Many might think that dining out frequently is a no-go when you’re dieting or trying to lose weight.

However, one fitness coach and fat loss specialist is determined to debunk this myth.

Hawys D, who goes by @coaching_in_hd on Instagram, often posts her healthy food choices from various outlets to assist followers in maintaining their nutritious diets. And recently, she turned her attention to popular coffee chain Starbucks in one of her reels.

The clip kicks off with Hawys standing outside a Starbucks outlet, clutching one of their beverages. She then strides into the store, explaining to viewers how she selects food conducive to fat loss.

Hawys can be heard saying: “As someone who lost 20lbs this year, a lot of people must think when I’m making these videos I’m just going for the thing that has the lowest calories.”

She quickly dispels this notion, stating, “But when it comes to fat loss, lower calorie isn’t always the best option.”

Instead, the fitness guru reveals that she evaluates the protein content, micronutrient levels, and fibre-to-calorie ratio of items. Her top choice was Starbucks’ Classic Oatmeal, clocking in at 223 calories and nearly 10 grams of protein.

“Oats are literally one of the most filling foods, so this is a perfect breakfast option,” she recommended.

Hawys gave her followers the lowdown on Starbucks’ Egg Bites with Three Cheese and Ham, noting that although they’re “not as volumous” as the oatmeal, they are a “semi-decent option for fat loss” boasting 13 grams of protein at just 170 calories.

When it comes to lunchtime choices, the fitness guru confessed she “probably wouldn’t recommend a wrap or sandwich” from the coffee giant. She pointed out that the All Day Breakfast Wrap hits nearly 500 calories with only about 15 grams of protein, explaining: “If you need 1,500 calories to lose weight, you’re spending 500 calories on one item.”

However, she did highlight a positive choice in the form of Starbucks’ Berry Crunch yoghurt, stating: “For 200 calories, it has 9 grams of protein. Not the best macro-wise, but it is gonna help keep you full.”

Hawys also weighed in on Starbucks’ protein drinks, giving them a thumbs-up. “At 50 calories and 6 grams of protein per 100ml, these are actually not bad,” she said. “And if you pair them with one of the other items, it probably would keep you full for the morning.”

She wrapped up her video with an invitation for suggestions, saying: “Let me know where I should go next.”

In her caption, Hawys also humorously remarked: “Spent my life savings showing you how to lose weight at Starbs.”

The video was a hit among her fans, with one confessing that fellow coffee chain Costa was their ‘biggest diet blunder’, while another shared their own slimming advice – recommending black coffee for those aiming to shape up.
