A money-savvy shopper has shared the impressive Lush haul she got for free after doing her bit and recycling her empty pots

A beauty guru has shared how she got a giant Lush Snow Fairy jelly for free after collecting her used pots — amazing shoppers who didn’t know about the store’s recycling scheme. Blogger @selfcarewithrachael revealed her impressive Lush haul in a video on TikTok.

Addressing her followers, Rachael explained she was returning her empty plastic products to receive money off another buy, and with over 90 pots to return, she didn’t have to spend anything on the £45 Snow Fairy Display Jelly she was after.

In fact, she even had enough credit to get the Christmas Capybara Bath Bomb. The video amazed shoppers, as many were unaware of the scheme, which encourages customers to return plastic pots, bottles and tubs.

According to Lush’s website: “You can claim 50p/c towards your Lush shopping per qualifying item returned and this will be taken off your total bill at the till-point on the same day. You can now also return your 10ml sample pots for an additional 5p/c off your shopping per item!

Of course, even loyal customers will take time to go through enough pots to get larger items for free, but it’s well worth saving up those pots say shoppers who are keen to give it a go. Reacting to the viral TikTok, one excited commenter replied: “How did I not know this, never throwing away again!” A second said: “Ooo great I’ve just finished a pot of hair cream,” and someone else wrote: “Oh wow thank you!”

Elsewhere, a fan of the scheme praised: “My partner did this and we got 2 face masks.” Another revealed: “I save all mine and go with a big bag lol,” and a third said: “This is why I power through with gifted items even if I don’t like the smell, no way am I giving away my precious pots.” A helpful commenter added: “Worth remembering that they need to be cleaned out too!”
