Exclusive:

After a night of awards at the BRITs, the sprawling list of celebrities at the bash make their way to celebrate with some wild afterparties. But what really goes on inside?

The BRIT Awards were back in force. The biggest night in British music wouldn’t be complete without some A-list afterparties, and I had to see for myself what all the fuss was about after this year’s BRITs.

Charli XCX dominated this year’s awards with a whopping five gongs, while Stormzy, Jade and Sam Fender were amongst other winners during the evening. From inflatable discos to personalised cocktails, there’s plenty of fun to be had for the lucky celebs attending and celebrating their wins. However, if you want to know the bits you won’t see on the ‘gram, I’ve got you covered.

Commuting and Queuing

One thing you don’t see in the glamorous collection of photos from the night is the mad dash between North Greenwich’s 02 Arena and central London, where the afterparties mainly take place. This year’s BRITs didn’t finish until circa 11pm, while the afterparties kicked off at 10pm – with many closing their doors for entry at midnight. And just like any other concert, it’s not an easy task getting out of the BRITs and to the afterparties before their doors close around midnight, and if you’re Maura Higgins, you’ve even got to factor in an outfit change to your timings.

With several afterparties on offer, many celebs find themselves party hopping across the capital. And following their stead, my first stop of the night was the TikTok Afterparty at the newly-reopened members club Tramp, the same venue Keith Moon once hung from a chandelier. With a celeb history so rich, I had to see this place for myself.

Something celebs won’t tell you about afterparties is the queuing, which often spirals around the streets of Soho as party-goers flock and are left waiting in the cold while the exclusive guest list is meticulously checked. And once you’re in, you’ll still have to wait your turn for the women’s toilet. Some things never change, even for the A-list.

Free-flowing food and drink

Once I was in TikTok’s intimate party, there was tequila, cocktails, champagne and wine flowing on tap – a free bar with very little rules to it. TikTok branded containers of chicken nuggets and chips were floated around the room like canapes, while DJs The Blessed Madonna and JYOTY ensured the special audience didn’t get off their feet.

Next up was the nearby Universal Music Afterparty at 180 Studios, where I walked in to pizza slices being offered up around the room – which later became custard filled donuts. With plenty of bars and endless supplies of alcohol, none of which you’ll pay a dime for, you certainly won’t go thirsty at a BRITs afterparty.

Celeb Spotting

Upon arriving at Universal’s impressive gathering, I spotted Emily In Paris’ Lucien Laviscount relaxing in a corner booth near the door – looking as nonchalant as he would in the local pub. Making my way to a back room behind the dancefloor, I bumped into Pete Wicks and Olivia Attwood as they made a beeline for the exit. “I’ve got work tomorrow,” explained Pete, sensibly, as he noted his early departure.

After walking into another room just moments later, where Pete’s ex Maura Higgins had slotted herself into a booth table, I wondered if that had an impact on his decision to dip out. She chatted with her I’m A Celeb pals Oti Mabuse and Danny Jones, who was also joined by his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher.

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard worked the room with wife Christine by his side as Sam Ryder didn’t move from the dancefloor all evening. “That wasn’t me!” exclaimed Jedward (I’m still not sure whether it was John or Edward) as a rose wine smashed onto the ground in the smoking area.
