Lizzy High recently shared her incredible transformation with her Instagram followers, and admitted she ditched fad diets and calorie restrictions in favour of a much simpler approach

Slimming down and shaping up might seem like a mammoth task, but health experts say being in the right mindset is half the battle.

Take fitness instructor Lizzy High as an example. The online coach ditched crash diets and harsh calorie cuts for a refreshingly simple weight loss formula, and now she’s flaunting a much trimmer outline just months after adopting some straightforward lifestyle tweaks.

She recently revealed that she cut around 300kcals daily to shed the fat, and also bumped up her step count to a noteworthy 10,500. As well as this, she focused on strength-training sessions and added Creatine supplements every day to boost muscle growth.

Yet, all the changes she made were simple. While savouring all her favourite eats, Lizzy concentrated on adding things to her diet rather than taking them away.

She also opted for lighter beverage swaps, such as diet sodas over full-sugar varieties, and smartly planned meals and exercise around her social calendar.

Lizzy said: “I used to think the only way I could lose fat was by cutting out carbs, eating 1,200kcal diets, and doing excessive cardio. Now don’t get me wrong, when I did this, I did lose fat but I lost my period. I lost my hair.

“I felt lethargic and had the worst relationship with food. Then I would just put all the weight back on. Now I have mastered the way to lose fat in a sustainable way.”

The fitness coach has waved goodbye to quick-fix diets, and her transformation snaps are turning heads for all the right reasons. Before toning up, she already looked great, but her latest pictures show a more chiselled, defined look.

It’s astonishing how small tweaks can make such significant strides in your appearance and, let’s face it, sticking to the plan is way easier when you’re still having fun.

Since Lizzy shared the post, it’s racked up more than 7,000 likes. While many of her fans were keen to ask questions, others stopped by to tell her she looks amazing.

One social media user queried: “These are good tips, but the real question is how is a person with a full time job, maybe a daily commute, kids and/or a hobby going to find the time (and energies) to put your suggestions into practice? I’d like to see more of this on a sustainable coaching profile.”

Another chimed in with: “Wow thank you for the advice. I love your insights.” Meanwhile, a third wrote: “You look great!”
