The Seven Sisters cliff-edge in East Sussex bears a breathtaking view with scores of tourists flocking to the area every year.
One avid traveller who has been visiting towns and cities all over England “for years” has named her favourite spot – and it’s ultimately stunning. The Seven Sisters are a series of chalk-cliffs which line part of East Sussex, on the southern coast of England.
Many people start their trek from the beach in Seaford, a charming seaside town with a beautiful seafront. But many warn the walk, with uneven terrain, is not for the faint hearted. Jenny – travel around Britain’s TikTok account – posted a picture of herself looking out at the clear blue sea and the chalk cliffs. The sea looks tropical, and with no other person in sight, it looks tranquil.
Just over two hours to London, Jenny said it’s not far from the capital and said her position was between Seaford and the Coast Guard cottages. And for anyone planning to do the huge six to eight hour walk all the way from Seaford to Eastbourne, there are some clear recommendations.
People are urged to begin their walk from Seaford in order to maintain the gorgeous view across the English Channel, with the cliffs backdrop visible at all times. According to Let’s Trek It, this mammoth walk is one of the UK’s most popular, with the attraction also having its very own country park – perfect for walking, bird-watching, cycling or grabbing a bite to eat at the on-site restaurant.
Seaford itself, despite being renowned as a key starting point for a Seven Sisters walk, has its own beauty and quirks that keep visitors coming back. There is a broad mix of residents from retirees to young families, and a general relaxed feel to life with easy access to Brighton, which is just 12.5 miles down the road.
Once a thriving port, Seaford now has a pebbled beach, peppered with colourful beach huts and a “bustling” town centre. One TripAdvisor reviewer said: “It’s a nice quiet beech one off the better pebble beaches in Sussex. And parking is free for now which is unheard off these days.”
Another added: “It’s just stunning beautiful and such great views and it surely a place that has to been seen and walked along it one of my happy places.”
