Jade Thirlwall has revealed the very dramatic inspiration behind one of her hit solo songs. The former Little Mix songstress has carved out a name for herself as one of the UKs biggest pop stars since the release of her debut single Angel Of My Dreams last year and she has no plans to slow down any time soon.

Earlier this month, the songstress returned with her single F**k You For Now (FUFN) and has opened up about the inspiration behind the song and how it stemmed from a dream. During an appearance on Capital FM Breakfast, Jade, 32, revealed that she had a dream about a boyfriend cheating on her which left her very angrt when she woke up.

“It actually having a dream about my boyfriend cheating on me and waking up the next day fuming,” she told hosts Jordan North and Sian Welby. Amused by the revelation, Sian commented: “Isn’t it funny how you still blame him in the morning.” “That’s how it began,” Jade added.

Speaking about the track, she revealed that she and hitmaker Raye sat down and brainstormed about how they could turn the dream into a bigger argument with her other half. “You know its not the end but you want to let them have it in that moment,” she explained.

Jade said: “Which is quite relatable, we’re all guilty of being fiery and arguing and afterwards being like ‘Oh maybe it wasn’t that big of a deal,’ so, that’s what the song is about.” Jade’s boyfriend, Jordan also tuned into Capital FM to reveal to his girlfriend that FUFN is “quite possibly the most incredible song” he’d ever heard.

“He knows it’s really easy to have arguments in cars, I feel seen and heard,” he laughed adding: “Knowing those arguments don’t have to last forever and that people can end up in really fantastic relationships if they put their mind to it.” Jade went on to reveal that Jordan, who found fame as one half of Rizzle Kicks initially believed the song was about him.

She revealed: “When I first played him this song he was like ‘Is this about me?’ I was like ‘No it’’ about just past relationships or anyone really who deserve a piece of my mind!'” Earlier this month, Jade became the first member of the former pop trio to win a solo BRIT Award for Best Pop Act and she joked she’s set to make a shrine to herself at home.

When asked about where she’s going to place her award, she told Jordan: “In my living room I’ve got a bookshelf with like, nice memories and awards and pictures and stuff. I think I need to make a JADE solo shrine for me, in my living room, which is a bit egotistical.”

Her boyfriend, Jordan, has made it no secret that he’s Jade’s biggest fan and even revealed that he doesn’t care that she earns more than him each year. Opening up on the We Need to Talk podcast with Paul Carrick Brunson, the singer said: “My girlfriend earns more money than me. She’s super successful, and I f****g love it.”

Addressing that some could find that “emasculating,” he added: “It’s reflected in the fact that I talk positively about Jade’s career. They get shared loads.

“I’ve actually had a lot of personal texts from people who have been in situations where their partner, usually male partner has struggled with their success, or they felt emasculated by their success. Whereas for me, she’s my superstar and I’m her superstar.”
