Friends actress Jennifer Aniston turns 56 today, and she has barely aged since she first appeared as the much-loved Rachel Green in the hit sitcom back in 1994

When she wakes up on the morning of her 56th birthday on February 11, Jennifer Aniston will take a look in the mirror and like what she sees.

Despite the ups and downs of her rollercoaster love life, the Friends star’s reflection is the one thing that has never let her down. She looks almost identical to when she first walked into Central Perk coffee bar as the beloved, ditzy Rachel Green in the pilot episode of the hit comedy back in 1994.

So, how has Jennifer continued to look so fabulous at 56? It, of course, helps if you are the spokeswoman for a very famous skincare line.

Jennifer has been with Aveeno for a while and she told the Los Angeles Times that she has been using the brand’s daily moisturising lotion since she was a teenager.

She said: “I have a bottle in my car. It’s in all of my bathrooms. Put it on right out of the shower before you get too dry.”

Jennifer has been known to splash out on time with Toska Husted, who is a facialist that charges $395 for his ‘basic work’.

He praised the former Friends star, telling the New York Post: “She has genetically beautiful, strong skin, which she maintains by being very diligent and consistent with her skin-care routine.”

One treatment that Jennifer has enthused about is the infrared sauna, which she enjoys with her Friends co-star Courteney Cox.

Jennifer told Shape magazine: “It’s such a game changer in terms of your skin detoxification and cell rejuvenation.”

Then there is a little trick to help keep those long nights from affecting her complexion.

Jennifer told Vogue that “eye masks and cryo sticks” are employed plus this freebie: “Just get a bowl of ice water and splash your face 25 times. It’s an old school trick that Joan Crawford used to do. It just wakes your skin up.”

When it comes to hair and the style that she became famous for, it is down to heading to the salon every five weeks.

Jennifer told InStyle that she is battling her biggest enemy when it comes to hair. She said: “I’m not gonna lie – I don’t want gray hair.” For her stylist, she still uses Michael Canalé, who created the iconic ‘The Rachel’ look in the mid 90s.

He prepared Jennifer’s hairdo for the SAG Awards and has developed a three-minute gloss treatment that she uses after having highlights or touch-ups.

When it comes to diet, Jennifer once again had an ambassador post that helped, spending 12 years with Smartwater.

Now though, there are not specific diets that she is following and just has “everything in moderation”.

Speaking to Yahoo! Food, Jennifer said: “It’s pretty clear. Eat as much organic fruits as you can, keep sugar [intake] low, drink tons and tons of water and get good sleep.”

Jennifer’s workouts are where it’s at though, which has helped maintain her stunning figure.

A regime of yoga, 75-minute muscle-sculpting sessions and boxing have all ensured she has stayed toned.

She has spoken about her boxing trainer, Leyon Azubuike to InStyle, saying: “I have this trainer named Leyon, who I believe hung the moon.

“It’s the longest workout I’ve actually stayed with consistently other than yoga.

“There’s something about the mental aspect of boxing – the drills, your brain has to work, you’re not just sitting on a bike. It’s amazing.”

In addition, the actor started her Pvolve exercise programme in 2021, before joining the company in 2023.

Pvolve is a low-impact exercise programme based around a grid mat with 12 boxes. The classes, around half-an-hour long, incorporate strength-building exercises using equipment such as resistance bands, and increasing in intensity over the 12 weeks.

“I’ve seen more transformation in my body from Pvolve workouts than I have with anything else,” Jennifer told Women’s Health earlier this year.
