Married at First Sight fans watched on as romance blossomed between Ella Morgan and JJ Slater, but after the pair went their separate ways, JJ began a relationship with Katie Price
JJ Slater’s ex-girlfriend has shared her honest thoughts on his relationship with glamour model Katie Price.
Married at First Sight fans watched as JJ and Ella Morgan had an “affair” on the show, before returning as a couple. But their romance didn’t work out and the pair later went their separate ways.
JJ, 32, has since embarked on a new relationship with mum-of-five Katie. Ella however says she has no “bad blood” with the couple.
Speaking to Olivia Attwood on the So Wrong It’s Right podcast, Ella said: “I have a group chat with some of the MAFS girls and one of them said, ‘oh, I’ve heard through the grapevine that JJ and Katie are, something is going on with them’. So I knew before it even got leaked to the press.
“I didn’t care. I love Katie, she’ll always be iconic, we still message now. I love her, I don’t have any bad blood with JJ, he’s just a bit of an ex now.”
Since leaving MAFS, Ella remains looking for love, and opened up about her heartbreak following her split from Celebs Go Dating boyfriend Alex. She revealed she had messages from other girls “saying my boyfriend at the time had been messaging them” but gave him the “benefit of the doubt”.
She added: “The breakup was really hard because I was falling in love with him. I’m sad because I don’t think I was treated very nicely.”
Ella made history when she became the first transgender woman to take part in Married at First Sight. She has been open about how her experience growing up had an impact on her love life, admitting it meant she learnt a lot later in life.
Meanwhile Katie, 46, is reportedly speeding up plans to marry beau JJ due to her mother’s health. In a heart-wrenching update, the star revealed Amy “can’t do the things that she used to do” as she battles idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Amy was diagnosed with the condition in 2017. A source told OK! : “Katie is really keen to marry JJ as soon as possible. It’s important that her mum is there with her at the wedding and to walk her down the aisle before it’s too late. Her being poorly has made Katie speed everything up and panic.”
At the time of her diagnosis, Amy, 73, was told she had a life expectancy of just five years. However, she underwent a lung transplant in 2022 in an attempt to improve her condition.
Katie is said to share a close relationship with her mum, who takes a firm stance when evaluating the former model’s love interests. Amy however is believed to have given JJ the nod of approval.
And while Katie has been married three times already – first to Peter Andre in 2005, then Alex Reid in 2010, and finally to Kieran Hayler in 2013 – she reportedly remains keen to walk down the aisle once more. “She wants her mum to see that she’s happy, and prove to her that she’s found a good one,” an insider told OK!.
They say any wedding with JJ however is likely to be a small, intimate ceremony. They added: “She just wants to focus on being with JJ, rather than the extravagance. Although, knowing Katie, there will be something outrageous up her sleeve! But she’s determined to be JJ’s wife – and quickly.”
