The John Lewis summer bedding is 50% off and is still available in all sizes

John Lewis has launched a huge summer sale with final reductions on everything from homeware, beauty and clothing. While browsing through the homeware section we spotted a set of best-selling bedding that some customers said was ‘like sleeping on a cloud’.

The easy, breezy cotton bedding is white and has a cheerful bumble bee print all over it. Originally priced from £60, you can snap it up now from £30 – making you a savvy saving of 50%.

The bedding has been reduced to clear and so will not be restocked once it has all sold out. It’s available in single, double, king, and super king sizes.

It is part of the retailer’s homeware brand and has an overall customer rating of 4.5 out of five. One happy customer wrote: “I have a bit of a pash for bees. My local football team is Brentford, also known as the Bees.

“I was looking for new luxury bedding as my old ones were wearing out, and when I found this I had to have it. Apart from the very pretty design, this is the smoothest, most comfortable bedding I’ve ever slept in.

“It is very high-grade cotton and whilst it’s not cheap, it’s one of the best investments because I know it’s going to last me a very long time. It’s like sleeping in a soft cloud!! Highly recommended.”

A second shopper said: “Has a velvet feel, washes beautifully, very comfy and cosy, well made.” A third added: “We love our new duvet set. The cotton is very soft, it washes well (I don’t need to iron it) and looks great.”

However, not all fans were happy with one saying the stitching had come undone in six months, they explained: “We bought this duvet set in store approximately 6 months ago and the stitching along the opening has come undone and one of the seams on a pillow has frayed leaving a hole. Not the quality expected from a John Lewis own product.”

Another customer said they were disappointed in the quality, writing: “Whilst the quality of the fabric is of a high standard, and does feel nice to touch, I washed the quilt cover prior to using (as suggested in the instructions), ironed it, and put it on the bed. After only one night of sleeping in the bed using the cover, it looks very cheap and tatty and very creased.

“I am disappointed in the overall look and quality when on the bed and have requested a refund. I have used 100% cotton bedding from John Lewis and other quality retailers and none have been difficult to iron nor have they looked cheap. Sorry John Lewis.”

Elsewhere, Dunelm’s Amberley Waffle Cotton Duvet Set is one of the retailer’s newest and most popular releases. It is available on a wide range of colours including white, nude, silver, olive, sage, grey and more. It’s priced at £34 – £58.

If you prefer printed bedding, this colourful set is a cheerful option. The Sateen Trailing Cherry Blossom Set is priced at £39.50 – £69. It comes in four colourways including pink, grey, blue and green.
