Jon Rahm is back on the DP World Tour this week for the Andalucia Masters as he looks to complete his four-event requirement for the season

Golf sensation Jon Rahm has his sights set on a new recruit for his Legion XIII team in the upcoming 2025 LIV Golf season, as he scouts talent at this week’s Andalucia Masters.

After jumping ship to the lucrative LIV Golf league in 2024 and establishing his own franchise, Rahm is on the hunt for a fresh face following the relegation of Kieran Vincent from the league. With a five-month window to secure a replacement, Rahm is wasting no time, particularly as he returns to DP World Tour action.

In a candid chat with Spanish publication Golf Sin Etiquetas, Rahm, speaking in his mother tongue, disclosed: “I still don’t have a player who is already signed but we have six or seven in mind.” He also hinted that one potential candidate is currently competing in Spain.

But it’s not just about bolstering his squad; Rahm, who clinched the LIV title in 2024, is eager to grow Legion XIII’s brand presence, expressing a desire to integrate his gear sponsor Callaway into the franchise’s commercial strategy, reports the Mirror US.

Jon Rahm’s season has been marred by controversy since his switch to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour late last year. By competing on the breakaway circuit throughout 2024, Rahm put his Ryder Cup eligibility at risk, as he was required to participate in four DP World Tour events before the end of the year.

Before the Spanish Open last month, Rahm still needed to complete three events but was uncertain if he could do so due to the fines and suspensions imposed by the DP World Tour for competing in conflicting LIV events. According to Tour rules, Rahm had to settle his sanctions before returning and completing his four-event quota.

However, Rahm expressed his discontent, stating in September that he had no intention of paying the fines. “I’m not a big fan of the fines,” he said at LIV Chicago.

“I think I’ve been outspoken about that. I don’t intend to pay the fines, and we keep trying to have a discussion with them about how we can make this happen.”

Rahm has since been able to return to competition by appealing the sanctions, following in the footsteps of teammate Tyrrell Hatton. This allowed him to participate in the Spanish Open and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland earlier this month. Rahm will complete his requirements with his fourth start in Andalucia this week.
