Armed with the viral Ninja CREAMi dessert maker, two lads decided to transform a tin of Heinz baked beans into ice cream – the result wasn’t as delicious as they had hoped

Two lads transformed a can of Heinz baked beans into ice cream with some pretty horrifying results.

Taking to TikTok, Josh Kerr and his friend showed off a Ninja CREAMi dessert maker – a viral kitchen gadget that allows people to create customised sweet treats. The product description states: “Simply fill a tub with ingredients, pop in the freezer for 24 hours, then process to perfection in minutes when you’re ready to serve! Creamify Technology transforms your frozen base into a creamy treat. Indulgent, low sugar, dairy free or vegan – the choice is yours!”

Impressed with the prospect of “turning anything into ice cream”, Josh said in his video that he wanted to “put that to the test” – by using Heinz baked beans. The lads poured a can of baked beans into a cup, seasoned it with salt and pepper, and popped it in the freezer for 24 hours as per the Ninja CREAMi instructions.

After the 24 hours were up, they loaded up the machine and set about creating their “baked bean sorbet”. And they were initially impressed with what came out, with Josh’s friend saying: “It’s actually like ice cream texture.”

However, upon closer inspection they noticed it smelled “so bad”. And things didn’t improve when they put it to the taste test, with Josh so disgusted he had to dart out of shot to spit the concoction out. “That is disgusting,” he said after he had cleared his mouth.

The lads gave the “baked bean sorbet” a 2.5/10 rating, and asked viewers for suggestions of what else they could try and convert into a dessert using the machine. They plan to rank all the creations on a leaderboard.

And the comments section was full of people offering some less-than-lovely ideas for their next experiment. One person said: “Sausages and mash.” Another suggested: “Cheesy chips and gravy.” While a third commenter wanted them to put mushy peas to the test.
