Joshua Santiago uses his talents as a barber to offer haircuts to individuals who simply can’t afford it. Now his latest act of kindness involves a homeless man whose transformation really wowed people online
People online were left amazed by a homeless man’s transformation after a kind stranger’s act of kindness.
Joshua Santiago has become an internet sensation where he offers haircuts to individuals who can’t afford it. The barber, originally from Philadelphia, US, has been travelling with Empowering Cuts since 2017.
He treks around the US providing free cuts – and does a pretty incredible job of it too. Just recently, the hairdresser, with 471,300 followers, made a homeless man “handsome” after his seriously kind gesture.
Now in another post on TikTok, he got to work on offering another trim to one individual. He shared a clip which shows the homeless man sporting a messy curly frock with facial hair.
Then the barber gets to work on his curls by shaving off the top part before turning to the side where he gave him a nice shave. After he starts trimming part of his beard, then resumes the job on the top part of his hair.
After giving him a clean shave, the homeless man looks completely different as the barber cleans off the small hairs from his face. Next up he goes over his hairline and shaves parts of that too.
Now with his clean shave and short trim, he hands over the mirror so he can admire the new look. And it’s safe to say, it’s gone down a treat.
Since the transformation was shared on TikTok, it garnered 5,400 likes and hundreds of comments. One said: “This is someone’s baby. Thank you for caring enough to make them feel again.”
While another added: “Yes I love this.” And a third commented: “Thank you for giving people back to their dignity.” Then a fourth gushed: “Beautiful and heartbreaking. Much respect to all.”
It comes after a man was left looking unrecognisable following a dramatic haircut to woo his girlfriend on their six-year anniversary. TikTok user Richmond Barber is known for his incredible styles online.
