Liam Gallagher fans couldn’t contain their excitement as the rocker took to the stage at Wembley Stadium ahead of Anthony Joshua’s showdown with Daniel Dubois

Liam Gallagher had fans in a frenzy after performing at the Anthony Joshua fight.

The Oasis frontman, 52, played ahead of the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight for the IBF World Heavyweight title. Liam’s performance will be his first since he and his brother Noel, 57, confirmed they had put their feud behind them and would be getting the iconic Manchester band back together after 15 years.

Influential Saudi boxing figure Turki Alalshikh booked Liam to perform for the 96,000 fans and it was recently revealed that back in June, talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan invited Noel to the fight in an attempt to settle the feud, unaware the brothers had reconciled and were planning reunion gigs.

Gallagher took to the stage before Joshua and Dubois got into the ring at Wembley Stadium, wearing his signature parka jacket, with his tambourine in his hand and he certainly got the energy reaching new levels. Prior to the event, Liam teased his setlist and revealed to fans he would be performing a string of Oasis tracks including Rock n Roll Star, Supersonic as well as Cigarettes and Alcohol.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “Liam Gallagher cool as f**k man.” A second commented: “Tell you what son @liamgallagher I love ya.” “I actually thought Liam Gallagher sounded better than he has for 15 years. Naturally way off his peak but he was good tonight,” commented a third. A fourth tweeted: “Liam Gallagher, here in full voice at Wembley, belting out the classics, before the Anthony Joshua match!!! What a showman!!”

When confirming his set list, one fan cheekily asked if he was excited by the idea of performing in front of a 96,000-strong crowd. He responded: “Yeah it’s a little on the small side but I’ll manage.” He previously said on his account that he wouldn’t be staying long at the venue as he’s travelling to Malta for his Liam Gallagher and Friends festival that same weekend. An Instagram post from Liam’s account previously hinted at the excitement of Liam performing at the event: “September 21st, Liam will perform 3 Oasis classics at the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois match at Wembley Stadium.”

It was rumoured that older brother Noel could have joined Liam at Wembley. The last time they were on stage together was in August 2009 after performing at V Festival in Staffordshire. Noel sensationally quit the band just six days later, revealing he “simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,” following a brawl backstage at a show in Paris.

Just two weeks ago, it was hinted that Noel, 57, might join his brother Liam for a performance at the event. Speaking to talkSPORT, boxing official Turki Alalshikh expressed his hopes: “I hope so! It will be something amazing if we get them together.” When quizzed about whether Noel had been approached, Turki added: “We will try. Why not?”
