Tommy Fury was in attendance at Wembley Stadium for Anthony Joshua’s fight against Daniel Dubois on Saturday night, but was reportedly met with a frosty reception
Tommy Fury found himself on the receiving end of a chorus of boos at Wembley Stadium amid news of his split from Molly-Mae Hague.
The Love Island alum from 2019, 25, who famously met influencer Molly-Mae on the popular ITV show, was spotted ringside before Anthony Joshua’s big fight with Daniel Dubois. When he appeared on screen in front of the stadium, the professional boxer was met with thousands of boos following claims that he cheated on his former fiancée Molly-Mae, also 25.
However, Tommy appeared unbothered by the crowd’s reaction and had a rather defiant response to the loud boos. Instead of bowing his head, Tommy cheekily cupped his ear in a bid to tell the crowds to boo louder as he beamed from ear to ear despite the negative response.
Fans on social media were quick to react as one said: “Tommy Fury showed on screen at the fight and booed, Wembley is team Molly Mae.” Another added: “At AJ vs Dubois and everyone’s just boo’d Tommy Fury when he came up on the screen, Molly-Mae has more fans than we thought.”
Someone else joked: “Tommy fury booed by the whole of Wembley.” While a fourth echoed: “Can’t help but feel sorry for Tommy. Nobody knows what happened but he’s getting the brunt of all of it. People can be so cruel.”
Back in August, Molly-Mae revealed they went their separate ways in August via a tear-jerking statement. Despite seeming like they were living a modern fairytale having purchased a swanky £4million pad in Cheshire, enjoying new parenthood to baby Bambi, and even getting engaged amidst a romantic sea of roses last year the social media starlet and the pugilist have hit a rough patch.
Taking to Instagram to announce her split, Molly-Mae wrote: “Never in a million years did I ever think I’d have to write this. After five years of being together, I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.
“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority. “I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all. Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I’ll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae x.”
At the time, Tommy also said that he was “heartbroken” by the end of his relationship and followed up with a separate Instagram story less than an hour later. He said: “I am heartbroken to share that Molly & I have decided to end our relationship.
“The past five years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority. Please respect our privacy, and our families’ privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.”
