A mattress hack has been revealed to change lives ‘for the better’ as a fitted sheet trick makes the rounds on Twitter/X, but there are a few detractors saying it has a clear flaw

A simple mattress hack is “changing lives for the better” when it comes to making sure fitted sheets don’t come off during the night.

In a now viral post on Twitter/X, one social media user told members of the public to “stop the madness” and fix their mattress failures. Revealing the secret to a well-rested night, they shared a hack to make sure fitted sheets, which are the bane of our sleep at times due to the corners popping up, don’t come loose.

Luckily there’s a solution, and the life hack has since been proven to work by plenty of users who say they are amazed at how simple yet effective it is. The original poster has said it is “about being kind to yourself” and it certainly seems to have worked.

The original post, which has racked up 81k likes and thousands of reposts, read: “Buy a fitted sheet one size bigger than your mattress and start living your life. Stop the madness.” Members of the public were elated with the advice and have since hailed the Twitter/X user as a hero.

One wrote: “You are changing people’s lives for the better and I salute you.” But others were not so convinced by the hack and say the wrinkles and lines of a sized-up fitted sheet were no friend to good sleep. One user replied: “Doesn’t work. I tried getting one that was just a bit deeper so I didn’t have to struggle, but it just creeps up the side and comes off at the corners.”

Another wrote: “Surely it gets all wrinkly?? An abomination!” The original poster has since replied with some additional tips, revealing: “You gotta tuck it under cmon man.” Suggestions of tucking the sheet have proven problematic too as people are now suggesting buying a “flat sheet” rather than a “fitted” sheet.

“That defeats the purpose of a fitted sheet,” one wrote. “Just use a flat sheet if you’re gonna do all that.” Another wrote: “Only buy flat sheets and really live.”
