Liverpool have allowed several of their young stars to head out on loan after making no signings in January – but did refuse a loan offer for Tyler Morton on deadline day

Liverpool failed to make any signings in January with Arne Slot continuing to be more than content with what he has at Anfield.

The Reds only bought in one new face back in the summer, that being Federico Cheisa, but the Italian has barely featured for the Premier League leaders as Slot maximises the talent he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool had few – if any – holes to plug over the last four months with their focus very much being on the pitch. Their hierarchy though has been willing to allow several players to leave, albeit they’ve kept all of their major names despite them being linked with moves away.

The month started with talk of some headline exits. Real Madrid’s pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold is well documented with the right-back still yet to sign a new deal. His departure seems to look more likely with each passing week, and it will now be on a free.

The Reds chose to reject an offer from Real, thought to be in the region of £20million. The Spanish side were looking to land him on the cheap but will no doubt try and turn his head over the coming months with the two parties able to speak.

Mohamed Salah is also yet to sign a new deal and Saudi Arabia have openly spoken about landing his services. Al-Hilal are the most likely destination, but no movement was made. Darwin Nunez was another forward linked with a switch to the Middle East.

Again though Liverpool chose to keep hold of their player with the club far more likely to review their options come the summer.

Tyler Morton was the subject of a deadline day offer from Middlesbrough, but they couldn’t reach an agreement to land the academy star, who will remain at Anfield. Three men who were allowed to depart on a temporary basis – one being Stefan Bajcetic who will head to Las Palmas.

Kaide Gordon, who previously earned praise from Jurgen Klopp, will head to Portsmouth. Calvin Ramsey was signed several years ago but has headed back north of the border and will spend the remainder of the season at Kilmarnock. Dominic Corness will play out the campaign at Gillingham.

The two permanent exits were both free transfers. Goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has moved to Fluminense with with Welsh U21 international Thomas Hill heading to League Two side Harrogate Town.
