McFly’s Danny Jones has returned to the stage after he recently found himself in hot water after being spotted kissing Maura Higgins at a BRITS after party.

The controversy hit the headlines when footage purportedly showed Danny and Maura locking lips at the Universal Music afterparty on Saturday, March 1, following the glitz of the BRIT Awards. The duo became the centre of attention at the Universal Music bash at 180 The Strand as they were caught up in an intimate moment. Eyewitnesses saw Danny land a swift kiss on Maura before going in for a more passionate kiss.

Later in the evening, it is claimed that Danny and Maura took their bubbling chemistry to the swanky Nobu Hotel in Central London, where they supposedly indulged in wine until the break of dawn, eventually departing around 6am.

But while speculation has been rife about the state of his marriage, sources have told how Danny and Georgia are very much still together and working through the drama. “They are clearly looking to put things behind them, and move on with their lives. It really hasn’t been a good time at all but they are very much together,” a source told the Mirror.

On Friday May 2, McFly took centre stage at Tunes on the Bay, Swansea’s inaugural beach festival, where die-hard fans had been lining up since dawn to catch a glimpse of their idols.

Addressing the excited crowd, Danny quizzed: “Are you ready Swansea?”. He also showered the venue with compliments, adding: “What a beautiful place. It’s the first gig of the summer,” reports Wales Online.

Though he’s posted about the issue on social media, neither Danny nor Maura have explicitly delved into the details surrounding the incident. However, in March, via an Instagram post, Danny issued an apology directed at his wife, Georgia Jones, and his family, vowing to manage the matter away from the public eye.

He penned a heartfelt statement: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”

In the same breath, he expressed gratitude to his fans, stating, “I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”

Adding to an eventful day, while performing in Swansea, the band paid a special tribute by dedicating It’s All About You to TikTok sensation, Joel (thelifeofjoeloates), who they met at a service station the previous day, thus renaming their famous tune to “It’s all about Joel.”

Joel, along with his mother Clare, hailing from Port Talbot, catapulted to fame after joining TikTok in January, becoming viral sensations. Clare Cerasuolo took to social media with clips showcasing her engaging squabbles and touching heart-to-hearts at home, aiming for the world to “see how amazing people with Down’s syndrome are”.

Their account has amassed a following of over 42,000, and it’s evident that Joel is absolutely loving his newfound fame as a local celeb.
