A mum-of-two has been left wowed after discovering she can get a special Happy Meal for her kids – not many people know about it

A savvy mum has been left stunned after unveiling a “secret” menu hack while ordering McDonald’s for her little ones.

Getting stuck into a Big Mac is the ultimate treat and for busy parents, sometimes a Happy Meal is the ideal quick fix or reward for their children. Charli, a mother of two, set TikTok abuzz when she shared her discovery that you can order a breakfast Happy Meal. The culinary explorer confessed she was “today year’s old” upon learning this nifty trick, insisting “no one believes her” about its legitimacy.

In her viral TikTok post on @charli0191, Charli documented: “I’m at the McDonald’s drive-thru, I’ve seen a girl post yesterday that she got her daughter a happy meal breakfast for her kid. So I’m gonna see if it’s legit.”

She continued with curiosity: “I’ve never asked for one, I never even knew it was a thing. But she put the receipt on, so yeah, I’m gonna ask. Let’s see if they do it.”

At the drive-thru, Charli requested an egg McMuffin combo complete with hashbrown and a Fruit Shoot neatly packed in a Happy Meal box – all for £3.79. “Guys, it turns out you can get a Happy Meal for breakfast,” she revealed.

“That is so good if you’ve got kids,” she gleefully added. Her find sent social media users into a spin, with one exclaiming: “My mind is blown! ” “Omg I’m going to do this for me as I don’t really care about a big drink,” another chimed in.

Someone else planning ahead said, “This is amazing! Guess where I’m taking the kids tomorrow.” And another simply reacted with: “I didn’t know.”

A McDonald’s employee claimed: “I work at McDonald’s and I would put it in a Happy Meal box for a child, no problem. She could have bought a toy for 99p and gladly do it for the kids for sure.”

However, following Charli’s social media sensation which accumulated over 62,000 likes, numerous fans scurried to their local branches only to be met with disappointment, discovering the hack isn’t universally recognised. One customer recounted, “I tried this, this morning at Wigston – did not work.”

Another quipped: “I asked yesterday, she said ‘nope never heard of it’,” Further adding to the discontent, someone else noted, “I asked at mine and they don’t do it, wish they did.”

Meanwhile, one sceptic pointed out the folly: “So, you’re paying for a full size breakfast and get it in a box?”.
