If you fancy a new TV in your living room then Amazon is offering a whopping discount on a new Sky rival.

Sky’s range of TV products remain some of the best in the business but they aren’t exactly cheap. Sky Q, Sky Stream and the latest Sky Glass TVs will set you back around £30 per month and most deals require homes to sign up for a long-term contract. If that sounds like too much for your wallet to cope with then there is another option that’s very similar to Sky’s Glass product.

Freely was first announced earlier this year and comes built into a number of TV models. This service lets you watch live and on-demand content and, just like Sky Glass, there’s no need for an aerial or dish with content beamed to the big screen via the web instead.

Other features that are similar to Sky include being able to pause live telly along with getting a full seven-day TV guide and being shown recommendations of things to watch.

The one big difference between Glass and Freely is that once you have purchased the TV there are no additional fees to pay.

If that sounds enticing there is more good news. Amazon has just confirmed a massive deal on Hisense TVs which knocks almost 50% off the standard price.

That means you can take delivery of one of these screens for as little as £229. Along with Freely, these screens also offer instant access to apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+.

There’s also Apple AirPlay support, gaming modes and they are all 4K UHD compatible for pin-sharp viewing.

Here are all the Hinsense deals from Amazon.

Of course, if you want Sky access then Glass is probably a better option. These connected TVs can be picked up for just £14 per month although the more channels and content you add the more expensive things get.
