The Gallagher brothers appear to have chosen a new man on drums for the Oasis tour this Summer which may shock some fans who expected Alan White or Zak Starkey
The Oasis line up for the 2025 Summer tour is complete and will have a brand new drummer, according to a report today.
Liam and Noel Gallagher are bringing in Joey Waronker on drums alongside more established former Oasis band members on guitars, according to NME. The full line up is said to be Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Joey Waronker.
Previously when asked about the line up in September last year, when a fan reached out on X, Liam replied: “Good question, there could be a few new faces just to freshen things up”.
However he has also now reacted to the NME article with the full line up, firstly asking them to reveal who their source was close the band. He later revealed a jokey line up for the tour with the band’s first ever drummer Tony McCarroll on drums and claimed another Oasis drummer Alan White would play bass. But in reality neither of them are expected to be involved in the tour.
Other names who have already been rumoured which are also in the NME line up include Andy Bell who would play bass and was in the band previously. Gem Archer, who has stayed friends with both Liam and Noel since Oasis split up, also seems a certainty on guitar.
And original band member Paul “Bonehead” Archers has been playing live with Liam for several years now, including on the Definitely Maybe tour last year, meaning he seems highly likely to. But The biggest surprise would be Joey Waronker on drums.
In the past he has played played with Beck, R.E.M., Elliott Smith and Roger Waters, as well as being a member of Thom Yorke ‘s Atoms For Peace band. On instagram Joey is already followed by Bonehead and Liam and Noel’s brother Paul.
Recently he was behind the drum kit for the live band which toured last year’s collaborative album between Liam Gallagher and John Squire. NME claims the Gallaghers are “excited” to have him on board.
Former Oasis Drummer Alan White got fans excited last year after he posted a photo of his drum kit with a swirling Union Jack design online as well as videos playing songs. Original drummer Tony McCarroll said that the band “hadn’t reached out yet and to be honest I’m not holding my breath” following their public legal battle in the past.
The Oasis Live 25 tour kicks off in Cardiff on July 4 and finishes at Wembley in September. There are also dates in North America and Australia. So far a spokesman for the band has declined to comment to the Mirror on the line up report.
