Michaela Brashaye Rylaarsdam, 31, who runs an OnlyFans account with her husband, has been charged with second-degree murder after the death of Michael Dale, 55, who paid her to wrap him in plastic for an explicit BDSM video
An OnlyFans model has been charged with murder after a man who paid her £8,000 tragically died during a BDSM fetish video they were creating, according to reports. Michaela Brashaye Rylaarsdam, 31, filmed the risqué video for her OnlyFans account with Michael Dale, 55, at his home in Escodino, California.
She received the sum to restrain him in plastic wrap and duct tape, which led to his death by asphyxiation, an affidavit reviewed by the San Diego Union-Tribune revealed. Despite having no prior experience with BDSM activities, Rylaarsdam informed police she was contracted by the deceased to “wrap him like a mummy” in Saran wrap and affix a pair of women’s boots to his feet, according to the report.
Disturbing footage from the incident on April 17, 2023, shows Dale with duct tape over his mouth and his head enveloped in cling film that was further secured with duct tape, and a plastic bag, also taped, covering his entire face and head, the affidavit detailed.
As Dale lay suffocating on the ground, Rylaarsdam carried out sexual acts nearby for the OnlyFans video she was capturing on her mobile, prosecutors claimed. The plastic bindings remained intact for eight minutes, with Dale’s limbs also tightly restrained, making it impossible for him to remove the coverings from his mouth and nose.
It is alleged that when Rylaarsdam arrived at Dale’s home at about 6pm, he “appeared intoxicated”. “Despite that fact, Rylaarsdam decided to spend the next several hours with Dale and engaged in fetish behaviour at Dale’s request,” the affidavit states, reports the Register.
Footage supposedly captures Rylaarsdam, who goes by the stage name Asshley Sincal, realising the situation had taken a dangerous turn and hurriedly dialling 911.
Police arrived at the scene to find Rylaarsdam performing CPR on Dale, who was declared brain dead at a hospital and, days later, removed from life support. Dale’s official cause of death was lack of oxygen to the brain
Rylaarsdam recorded the video for her OnlyFans profile, which she operates in partnership with her husband Brandon. Deputy District Attorney David Jarman, who is prosecuting the case, said the evidence supported a second-degree murder charge.
“The evidence showed that he hired her to perform bondage acts and fetish acts,” he said. “There is no indication that he asked her to obstruct his breathing, asked her to put tape over his mouth, asked her to put a plastic bag over his head.”
A lawyer for the mother-of-three claims she was engaged in consensual sexual activities and did not expect Dale would die during the encounter. Rylaarsdam was arrested last month and is charged with second-degree murder, to which she has pleaded not guilty. She is awaiting her trial from jail where she is being held without bond.
