Patrick Schwarzenegger’s mum hadn’t noticed he was completely nude in The White Lotus.
Maria Shriver was extremely focused on Patrick’s face as she tuned in to watch his risky scenes in The White Lotus, not realising he was completely naked. The 69 year old writer and mother watched the steamy moments without spotting her son’s full exposure. She revealed that after watching the programme, her children asked: “Did you see that?,” to which she responded: “No, what?” “So that shows you – a mother’s eyes are always on the kids’ eyes,” she laughed.
Maria is over the moon about Patrick’s success on the hit HBO series. She expressed the emotional journey to recognition: “I was so happy for him because he’s worked so hard. He takes classes, he’s really been grinding at it for more than a decade, and he wanted to work his way up – and he’s done it his way.”
She highlighted his dedication, telling People: “I was so happy for him because he’s worked so hard. Meanwhile, Patrick Schwarzenegger shared his frustrations with The Sunday Times about facing sceptics who attribute his casting to his father’s fame. Addressing the critics, he asserted: “I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is.”
But pushing back against such claims, Patrick emphasised his long road of commitment and persistent efforts in his craft: “They’re not seeing that I’ve had 10 years of acting classes, put on (high) school plays every week, worked on my characters for hours on end or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on.”
Patrick went on to say: “Of course, it’s frustrating and you can get boxed in and you think at that moment, I wish I didn’t have my last name. But, that’s a small moment.” He added, “I would never trade my life with anyone. I’m very fortunate to have the life and family that I have, the parents I have and the lessons and values they’ve instilled in me.”
In the first episode, sex-obsessed Saxon spoke about watching porn to his younger brother Lochlan, and described their own sister Piper as “hot.” He also walked naked across the room he shared with Lochlan to the bathroom, where the mirror caught the full reflection of his nudity.
In an interview with The Sun, Patrick described his character, saying: “Saxon is a douche who leads with his penis. He is despicable and outrageous.” The actor also revealed he was not told how often he would be seen nude in the series when he originally auditioned, but he realised that Saxon is just the sort of person who would walk around naked without being bothered by it.
“He’s the guy who, whenever he sees a girl at the pool, he’s going to flirt with them, whether it’s a mom or a 22-year-old.”
