The 75-year-old man, known only as Gerhard T, performed brutal penis, testicle and even toe castrations on his kitchen table – for willing victims who shared the same sexual fetish

A pervert who castrated men in his apartment after they contacted him to fulfil their extreme sexual fantasies has been jailed for almost four years.

The 75-year-old man, known only as Gerhard T due to local privacy laws, performed brutal penis, testicle and even toe castrations on his kitchen table for willing victims who shared the same sexual fetish. Some participants even drove hundreds of miles to visit his “surgery”.

The court heard that the accused wasn’t a medic and instead worked as a fitter in the metalwork industry, installing machinery, engine parts and other equipment. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to three years and 10 months in jail at Erfurt District Court, Thuringia State, Germany. This is despite all of his victims willingly taking part in the brutal procedures.

Judge Udo Tietjen said the jail term was justified despite his patients agreeing to the surgeries. He said: “It was an extraordinary trial, it was also a trial tainted with shame.”

Gerhard T was found guilty of seven counts of grievous bodily harm and one of bodily harm after charging up to EUR 2,000 (£1,674) to perform the illegal procedures. According to reports, the defendant found his patients online, usually after they asked him to fulfil their extreme sexual kinks.

The 75-year-old reportedly carried out the surgeries on his kitchen and sofa at his home in Erfurt, Germany. Between 2015 and 2019, he castrated eight men, but was only caught when one victim turned to an online advice forum for help after being badly butchered. The exchange was flagged by the Bavarian Criminal Investigation Department, who spoke to the victim and tracked down Gerhard T.

At his home, they discovered blood-splattered surgical kidney dishes, scissors, tweezers, and a tying tube, prosecutors said. The blood was found to have come from from several of his victims. Gerhard T. was paid to carry out the horrific procedures, and even got a sexual thrill from them too, local media reports.

Tietjen ruled that the victims, despite agreeing to and paying for the procedures, will not be named in court. The judge added: “It is not intended for the public to know who had their genitals removed and how. That violates the sexual and physical sphere of the victims.”

The public prosecutor initially sought a longer prison term of six years and six months, while the defence argued for acquittal. The verdict is not yet final and can be appealed.
