Rebekah Vardy appeared to be having a very luxurious time amid the snow and ski slopes – just weeks after rival Coleen Rooney went through stomach churning trials in I’m A Celeb
Rebekah Vardy apes her Wagatha Christie nemesis Coleen Rooney by sharing snaps of her glamorous winter skiing trip in the Alps
The 42-year old wife of Leicester City striker Jamie posted a video of her snow-swept surroundings while on a ski-lift. She captioned the post: “Life doesn’t get much better.”
She later modelled a pair of colourful salopettes while posing for a selfie. She also posed in some white figure-hugging apres-ski leggings. Coleen, 38, meanwhile, practised her snowplough turns during a visit to an indoor ski-slope in Manchester just 24 hours earlier in remarkably similar colours to Rebekah.
As fans of both WAGs will know, Rebekah and Coleen are far from close. Their friendship imploded in 2019 when Wayne Rooney’s wife accused Jamie Vardy’s of selling fake stories about her to a tabloid.
Coleen made an explosive accusation about Rebekah in an infamous Instagram post – which led to a hugely expensive libel case, which Mrs Vardy lost. Last month, ITV fans watched with close attention as Coleen entered the Australian jungle as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
During her time in camp, Coleen explained to her co-stars that the costly legal case was her “worst nightmare” and that it was “not a joke” to her. Opening up to her fellow contestants, Coleen said: “I didn’t think it [the post] would give as much attention as it did…
“I felt ashamed going to court. I felt like we were putting on a whole show for the world. It became a joke and it was disappointing. It wasn’t a joke to me.”
Fellow campmate GK Barry said: “Coleen spoke about Wagatha. It was so interesting to hear it”. And later, while discussing who owns the term ‘Wagatha Christie’, Coleen drew attention from both her campmate and those watching from home when she revealed: “She does.”
When Coleen ended the show as the runner up, Rebekah revealed she was impressed by the way she conducted herself in the jungle. She wrote in a column for The Sun at the time: “Coleen finished second. Coleen has had a fab series. She has really done well and made herself proud.
“Yes, I know you’re all waiting for me to say otherwise, I’m sorry to disappoint, but it’s just not happening. It’s really, really time to move on and end the year with a positive.”
Upon leaving the jungle, Coleen revealed the extent of her troubles when she was in the camp. She said: “The first week I struggled and by day three I had the headache. People were saying before I went in there ‘have you started getting yourself off caffeine and this and that’ but I didn’t do any of that.”
She continued: “I was so forced on getting everything prepared before I went into the jungle to leave the boys that I didn’t actually think about being in the jungle till I got there and when I got there I just thought what have I signed up for, what am I doing here.
“The headache set in obviously from withdrawal from caffeine, sugar and alcohol and then the hunger because we didn’t get the stars in the first week. Dean didn’t succeed in some of the trials so we were limited on food and the hunger was real.”
