Wrexham co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have hailed a huge new sponsorship deal for the League One club as they announced a link-up with Meta Quest

Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have shared their delight at being able to ‘live out their dreams’ by stepping onto the pitch in a virtual capacity – as they celebrate a significant new sponsorship coup.

Since taking over in 2020, the Hollywood stars have transformed the Red Dragons, leading them to consecutive promotions in recent seasons. The club’s global fanbase has skyrocketed thanks to its celebrity connections and the hit FX show “Welcome to Wrexham”.

Seizing on the League One team’s international fame, Reynolds and McElhenney have unveiled a partnership with Meta Quest for the tech giant to feature as the new back-of-shirt sponsor. This move will see the Meta Platforms-owned brand emblazoned across the back of both the men’s and women’s team shirts.

To mark the sponsorship, Dragons players donned Meta Quest 3 headsets before their latest game against Huddersfield Town, with key players like Paul Mullin snapped enjoying the gear. Commenting on the deal, Wrexham AFC Co-Chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds enthused: “We’re so excited to welcome Meta Quest as our back-of-shirt sponsor.”

“Meta Quest allows you to immerse yourself in new worlds and experiences and is all about connection-something that resonates with us at Wrexham AFC.
