Sky has issued an apology after users of its Sky Glass TVs say their devices aren’t working.

If your Sky Glass or Sky Stream box isn’t working right now you are definitely not alone. It appears some UK users are suffering from an annoying glitch that’s leaving them unable to turn on their screens.

The gremlins began last night, Thursday 19th, but people are still complaining that they can’t access channels today.

One user named Matthew vented his frustration via social by saying, “My Sky Glass has now been off for the best part of 11 hours. Are you able to provide an update on the fix? We pay a lot of money each month for the use of your services and understand at times faults happen, but 11 hours so far with no end in sight, it’s not good.”

Sky has now confirmed there is a problem with the company apologising to its Glass and Stream users.

“We are sorry that some Sky Glass and Stream customers are currently experiencing issues when trying to switch on their devices,” a Sky Spokesperson said.

If you are having difficulties, then you are being urged to follow some simple advice.

This is aimed at resetting and rebooting the devices in the hope this clears the bug. It basically requires you to switch off the Sky gadget at the mains, then press and hold the Standby button whilst turning the power back on – the wait until you see the LED lights flash

Let the Sky Glass TV complete the recovery process. This can take up to 15 minutes, depending on your broadband speed.

Switch the TV back on and follow the steps on the screen to set up your TV.

It’s unclear what has caused the glitch but some are speculating that it might be an issue with an update that’s been released to the devices.

One of the advantages of Sky Stream and Sky Glass is that they are powered by broadband which makes it easier for Sky to push out new features and release software patches.

Hopefully, the bug will be fixed soon but in the meantime give Sky’s reboot a try and maybe you’ll be able to watch TV again.
