Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden took to social media to mark her second wedding anniversary with her husband Benjamin Jones and fans were quick to comment

Amy Dowden left her fans brimming with emotions as she hit an incredible personal landmark.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional, who battled stage three breast cancer, took to social media on Tuesday to celebrate her second wedding anniversary with a loving tribute to her husband, Benjamin Jones. Uploading adorable snaps of their special day, Amy penned: “Happy 2nd anniversary! I think it’s fair to say we’ve been through quite a bit during married life. But I’m forever grateful for you!”

She added details about their shared challenges since her diagnosis in May 2023: “Thank you for this past year! I know at times it’s been so tough for you to watch but you kept positive, kept the house clean away from infections and tried to keep me as positive as possible.”

The dancer expressed her unwavering affection: “I love you even more! Let’s hope for a smoother year ahead! But what I do know is we have each other! More adventures, my crazy last min plans, house renovations, dance school fun and basically just us being us! Love you always xxx your Amy xxx.”

The heartfelt post garnered a flurry of supportive comments, with her Instagram followers chiming in to commend the couple for their resilience and to wish them continued strength and happiness. After her initial cancer diagnosis, the Express reports that Amy opted for a vasectomy. Following the surgery, doctors brought her the grim news that the tumours had spread, and in July, another form of cancer was found. Commencing chemotherapy treatments the subsequent month, Amy faced a formidable battle.

Compelled by her health struggles, the celebrated Welsh dancer missed out on the 2023 instalment of Strictly Come Dancing. Against the odds, she announced her triumphant return to the series later this year, sharing exhilarating news with fans that her latest scans showed “no evidence of disease” after the treatment course.

Now, the TV star is in full recovery and is set to take part in this year’s BBC show. Amy heartwarmingly communicated her eagerness to revisit the glittering stages, confessing an emotional longing to re-embrace her role in the popular dance competition.
