Fans of Strictly Come Dancing champions Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell have reason to rejoice – the pair are reuniting for a brand new project after missing out on the live tour
Strictly Come Dancing winners Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell had revealed their huge new project – after being forced to miss the current UK show tour.
The 47-year-old stand-up comedian and 35-year-old Australian dance expert Dianne lifted the glitterball trophy just one month ago, after wowing the judges, the live studio audience, and viewers at home. Dianne won additional praise for her work during the 2024 season due to the fact she had to account for Chris’s blindness for each of their routines and to ensure he could shine on the dancefloor while keeping him safe.
Fans have been disappointed over the news that they had been forced to miss the currently Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 2025 due to scheduling conflicts. Chris had been due to be on tour last month, but his involvement in the BBC caused him to push his dates back and they conflict with the live tour dates.
But fans will be able to enjoy Chris and Dianne’s blossoming friendship as they have a new project together. They have been teasing plans – with the dance professional stating online last week: “Nine days and counting ….?????? Thats all you get for now.”
And now the duo have revealed they are recording an audio show together. In a shared video that they posted on their respective Instagram grids, the dance champions wrote: “Want more of this nonsense? Chris and Dianne are going to be hooking up for a weekly publicly available catch up, otherwise known as a PODCAST.
“First episode out in just four days and counting. If you’ve got any questions for us, put them here and we will try to get around to answering some on the pod See you all on Thursday. We can’t wait!”
Teasing details of their debut episode, Chris added: “And of course we will have to start with a recap of that final won’t we. Can’t wait partner!”
Accompanying footage showed the pair larking around together addressing a camera with varying levels of enthusiasm. At one point Dianne suggests that she will reveal the contents of her bag in a segment – prompting a very dry response from Chris – while other clips showed them laughing and joking together.
The announcement has been welcomed by fans who rushed to the comments section to share their happiness. One wrote: “omg this is going to be so fun!! can’t wait to listen, it’s going to be like strictly never finished!”
Another typed: “Amazing news about the podcast!” And a further fan commented: “We’re looking forward to this!” – sparking a reaction from Dianne herself who responded with a string of red heart emojis.
Fans had been sad to learn Chris wouldn’t be taking part in the current in the current Strictly tour. The show kicked off in Birmingham last week and is due to keep the stars and professionals from the series on the road until mid-February.
He explained previously: “I’m afraid I will not be able to do the Strictly tour. My own tour was meant to be on the road in September and a lot of dates were moved to Jan and Feb to accommodate doing #Strictly. It’s unfortunate as it’s been so much fun, but my own dates can’t be moved for a second time.”
