Leopard attacks escaping man in terrifying moment

Alarming footage shows a leopard suddenly running at a large group of terrified people who were enjoying a picnic in a park.

Two people were left with serious head injuries after the big cat suddenly pounced on up to 60 people who were outside in a field near some woods in Madhya Pradesh in central India.

Suddenly the leopard charged at high speed and attacked multiple people during the incident on October 20. In the clip the animal can be seen running at the crowd as people try to run away. One man is knocked to the ground and the leopard was mauling him while shouting can be heard in the background from alarmed witnesses.

Almost as quickly as it came the predator then retreats back to the cover of the wood and people check on the those who were injured. The man who was seen being mauled in the video has been named as 23-year-old Akash Kushwaha by the Times of India. And local media said that as well as him, an off duty police officer and a woman were also attacked and suffered serious head injuries.

At the start of the video the crowd had actually been beckoning the leopard to approach and shouting “come, come” but it was when it suddenly came at them at speed that they realised the seriousness of the situation and started to panic.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed that a leopard has been roaming in the UK with a DNA tests proving its existence earlier this year. For years there have been talks of the presence of a big, elusive cat in the UK.

Encounters have included run-ins on country roads or mysterious unexplained animal deaths. Reports of an evasive big cat lurking around had been shrugged off as speculation amongst a section of ramblers and wildlife aficionados for ages.

Now, however, the mystery has been resolved following confirmation based on a sample secured from the Lake District establishing the existence of a huge feline in our countryside.

The cat in the ‘Panthera’ genus, most likely a leopard, has been positively ID’d after a swab was taken from a dead sheep in the Cumbrian beauty spot. A passerby has mentioned observing something making hasty strides away from the mauled sheep prior to turning it in for analysis.

This is the first time where definitive considerable cat DNA has been identified on any carcass in the UK. Professor Robin Allaby of the University of Warwick affirmed to BBC Wildlife that this revelation converted him into a believer of the big cat theory, reports the Express. He stated: “It makes me a convert. Until now, I have remained open-minded, I think that’s my job as a scientist.”
