A cleaning guru has told her followers how mops can be given mores scubbing power which allows them to be used elsewhere

The mop is probably one of the most-used cleaning tools there is.

But they can be made more efficient in a domestic situation by making one small change to them

And an expert in cleaning has shown her followers how mops can be given mores scubbing power which allows the household tool to be used elsewhere..

Lynsey Crombie gave her mop more ooph by adding a Scrub Daddy sponge.

In her post on the social media platform, she said: “Want to add extra cleaning power to your mop and save your back? Simply squeeze a Scrub Daddy into your spin mop head to tackle grout, hard water marks, and limescale like a pro.”

She began by making a hole in the centre of her string mop and pushed the cotton strands of the mop to the side.

After this she is seen dampening a Scrub Daddy before adding dishwashing detergent and putting the sponge in the centre of the mop head.

This meant cleaners could get scrubbing and use on tile grout or glass shower screens which stopped you having to bending down all the time.

She highlighted that screening the abrasive scrubber was also quick and easy afterwards

Lynsey said: “When you’re done, pop him in the dishwasher for a little spa session, dry him off, and he’ll be ready for round two,”

Her followers were impressed with the hack and praised her for passing it on.

One woman wrote: “Oh wow fabulous hack Lynsey thank you,”

And another user Instagram user added: “Oh I’m gonna try this fab idea,”

Meanwhile another commenter said: “Great tip! So much easier with the mop to reach all those areas.”

Crombie is known as the Queen of clean and is also also a best-selling author and makes frequent appearances on TV with her cleaning tips.

They are highlighted on her on Instagram and TikTok feeds where she also gave valuable advice to others for making cleaning products work better .

She wrote in her Instagram post: “When you clean, do you spray and wipe right away, or do you let the product sit and work its magic?

“Leaving it for a few minutes gives the cleaner time to break down dirt and grime properly—making your job easier and the results even better.”

The Mirror reported how cleaning ace Vernon Charles Round revealed a cost-saving tutorial to keep the house in tip-top shape without breaking the bank.

He said: “Girlies, I wished someone told me about this,” he said to his 175,000 Instagram followers. “You need to save this life-saving hack to use later.”

Instead of purchasing microfibre pads for his mop, which cost £8.99 for a pack of four on Amazon, Vernon simply wraps the wet cloths around the mop and cleans the floor with them. “

It’s packed with disinfectant [so] my floor comes up shining,” he added. Even if you don’t have any old microfibre clothes lying around, they’re much cheaper than mop pads and will only set you back £1.50 for a pack of four from Tesco.
