A soap star has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences – he was detained by officers who swooped on his home this month over the paedophile claims
A soap actor has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences after allegations emerged of the abuse of five teenage boys.
Police raided the home of the actor this month over historic paedophile claims dating back to the 1990s, when the actor was starring in a number of high-profile shows alongside some of Britain’s most famous names.
The suspect, who has not been named, was held for several hours before being released on bail. His family, including his partner, are said to be shocked by the allegations, which he denies.
The suspect, who has enjoyed major roles in top TV shows. The actor denies the claims and is on now on bail after he was held for several hours.
A police spokesperson confirmed to The Sun: “Officers investigating allegations relating to the 1990s detained a man.”
“He was arrested on suspicion of several sexual offences relating to five men who were teenage boys at the time of the alleged offending. He has been conditionally bailed while enquiries continue.”
Upon raiding the home, police reportedly seized computers and documents. The actor was then arrested on suspicion of sex crimes against the five teenage boys.
Police were seeking evidence relating to the alleged abuse of five victims by the unnamed soap star.
