Kerry Katona shares update on her mum’s health
Fans have been given an update on the health of Kerry Katona’s mother after being asked for their support over the news that Sue Katona ended up in hospital recently.
Kerry, 44, shared just days ago that Sue was “not in a good way” and revealed that she had been hospitalised, adding that doctors had found blood clots on her lungs. She asked for prayers and was met with an outpouring of well wishes.
The reality TV star returned to her Instagram Story this weekend to provide some updates for her followers. Kerry announced in a video message on Sunday that Sue remains in hospital and said there’s a “clot attached to her heart”.
She told her followers in the video: “Hi everyone – just to give you an update on my mum. She wants to say thank you so much for all her well wishes. Update on my mum’s health; she’s still not very well. There is a clot attached to her heart. There’s so many underlying problems with my mum.”
Kerry, who previously shared that she was staying at Sue’s flat to be closer to the hospital, continued in the update on the platform: “I know she’s going to be watching this. She’s still got a very wicked sense of humour and I will see you shortly, mother. She’s in the right place. I don’t think you’re gonna be coming home anytime soon, mother.”
She added: “So me and mister are having fun – that’s her cat. Waiting for the washing to be done and then I will see you shortly, mum. Do as you are told – which I know you don’t like doing.” Kerry then concluded by saying: “But the main thing is I’ve lost loads of weight because of it, which is great – thanks for that mum. I’ll see you soon!”
The I’m A Celebrity winner went on to share a video of herself visiting Sue in hospital. The footage showed Kerry sat on a chair on the ward, whilst her mother lay in a bed nearby. Sue was seen wearing a hospital gown in the clip.
Sue waved to viewers towards the start of the video, before encouraged her to show her arm, which appeared to sport bruises. Sue commented: “Yeah, it’s a bit of a mess. It was touch-and-go anyway, really bad.” Kerry however assured her fans: “But she’s alright and she’s in the right place.”
The update comes just days after Kerry shared with her followers that Sue had been hospitalised. The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up revealed that she was “exhausted,” saying that she’d had “no sleep” amid the experience.
She said: “Please excuse the state of me. I haven’t been to bed since 3am, not this morning, the day before. I’ve taken my mum into hospital. I’ve had no sleep. For those who are aware – thank you all so very much for the messages.
“The hospital found clots on my mum’s lungs. She’s not in a good way. It’s been a very rough over 24 hours. I’m absolutely exhausted. […] I need to get some sleep so I can get back to the hospital so I can be there for my mum.”
Kerry further commented: “I’m so sorry I look like sh**e. I’ve come back to my mum’s flat, because it’s closer to the hospital, so I can get back there.” Kerry went on to suggest that she had felt “really scared” over the apparent health issue.
She concluded the video message earlier this week by saying: “I got her to the hospital [though] and that’s the main thing. And I stayed with her. It was absolutely exhausting, I need to get some sleep. My mum sends her love to everybody. I ask you all to say a little prayer to keep her strong and keep her fighting.”
