Fancy a new smartphone but don’t want to pay high prices? Motorola might have just what you are looking for.

The iPhone continues to reign supreme when it comes to desirable gadgets, but owning one does come at a price. All of the latest and greatest call makers from Apple will set you back at least £799, and this can rise to well over £1,000 if you start going Pro. That’s a lot of money but there is now another new way to own a feature-packed device for a whole let less.

Motorola has just confirmed the release of its new moto e15 which costs just £69.99 – that’s over 10 times less than the iPhone 16. Although it can’t match Apple’s power, intelligence or premium design there are three things that it does offer that the iPhone doesn’t.

Firstly, the e15 packs a huge 6.7-inch screen inside its shell that gets a speedy 90Hz refresh rate for smooth and stutter-free scrolling. Despite endless requests, Apple’s standard iPhones still only offer slower 60Hz technology.

Along with that slick screen, the e15 also gets a massive 5,200mAh battery – that’s even bigger than the power pack tucked inside the super-premium iPhone 16 Pro Max. Finally, you’ll find a 3.5mm headphone port so you can plug in those wired cans – that’s a feature Apple ditched all the way back in 2016.

Other extras on the budget blower include a dual-lens rear camera, MediaTek Helio processor, fast refilling and three colour options including Fresh Lavender, Misty Blue, Denim Blue.

Sound enticing? Motorola says it will arrive in stores from March 2025.

If that’s too long to wait there are two other Motorola phones arriving sooner. The £89.99 Moto g05 will launch in February and offer an improved camera and a 90Hz screen with better brightness.

Then there’s the more premium moto g15 which lands in stores next month and offers stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 50MP camera system with improved night photography and a 6.7” Full HD+ display.

The Moto g15 costs £139.99.

“For consumers looking for a well-rounded device, the moto g and moto e franchises are the perfect fit. These families offer reliable performance, expert camera capabilities and power to last.”
