An 86-year-old woman was quoted a staggering £3,000 for a garden tidy up job – but ended up getting the surprise of her life.

The Manchester-based pensioner recently needed help with her overgrown backyard, filled with tall grass and weeds.
She told the man behind the Garden Yardz Mowing account on TikTok that she had been quoted £3,000 for a tidy up job – a price she was simply not willing to fork out. In a recent video that has garnered more than 54,000 views, Garden Yardz Mowing gave the elderly woman an unexpected surprise, saving her from shelling out a substantial fee.
He revealed in the video: “86-year-old lady quoted £3,000 for her garden – so I did it for free!” The clip shows Garden Yardz Mowing using his trusty strimmer on the grass and weeds, carefully manoeuvring around the bushes previously planted by the woman.
Once the grass and weeds were evenly trimmed, he went over the area again with a lawn mower, ensuring a flawless finish, reports the Manchester Evening News. Garden Yardz Mowing also pruned the woman’s plants and bushes, leaving her garden looking completely transformed by the end of the video.
The heartwarming video has attracted hundreds of likes and heartfelt comments from viewers, who have praised the Good Samaritan for his kind act. Many were shocked by the original quote the elderly lady had received.
