A woman who was left baffled as to why her dishes were still dirty after taking them out of the dishwasher was left horrified when she found out what the problem actually was

A woman was left gagging after discovering a hidden compartment in her dishwasher that she needed to clean.

The woman, who goes by the name beannina4 on TikTok, noticed that her dishes weren’t as clean as she’d hoped when she took them out of the dishwasher. Despite running her plates through the washer multiple times, they remained dirty.

She then realised it wasn’t the dishwasher’s fault but hers for not keeping it clean. Taking to TikTok, she revealed: “Am I the only one who never knew we were supposed to be deep cleaning our dishwashers?

She pulled out the filter from her dishwasher, which was covered in grime, and added: “This is what I found. It was so disgusting, every time I think about the fact that I was washing my dishes in this, it literally makes me gag.

“I never even knew that this filter was a thing or that we were supposed to be deep cleaning it monthly,” she confessed, questioning whether previous tenants had ever bothered to clean the filter. She seized the chance to enlighten her followers on her new cleaning regimen.

Now, she boasts that her dishwasher is “running a million times better” and “smells so much cleaner” Bean explains that she soaks the filter in hot water with soap and employs a small brush for scrubbing. To cleanse the inside of the machine, she uses white vinegar and baking soda.

Additionally, she fills a container with white vinegar, places it inside the dishwasher, and runs a cycle to purify the interior, urging people “don’t forget to clean your dishwasher” and does this once a month.

One TikTok user confessed their ignorance about this, commenting: “Raise your hand if you’ve never done this before,” while another revealed: “I did not know this either. I was having chronic stomach aches, discovered it one day it was disgusting. Cleaning it often my stomach aches are gone!”
