Toco the YouTuber, from Japan, has opened up his very own zoo with a twist. At this particular zoo, the visitors will not be seeing animals but will be dressing up as them instead
An animal-lover who splashed out £12,000 to look like a real-life dog has now opened a “zoo” so other people can do the same.
The YouTuber, known as Toco, says he has already been living out his “dreams” of being a canine with the help of his costume. But he would like to spread the joy to others, who also have similar aspirations and want to try it in a more natural environment.
He launched Tocotoco Zoo with an official “grand opening” in Japan on January 26. The bizarre site will be open to the public a few times each month for morning and afternoon sessions. During the session, visitors will be able to dress up as an Alaskan Malamute costume. However, the transformation comes at a cost. Entry for one person costs a staggering £250, or 49,000 yen, and reservations must be made 30 days ahead of the date.
The dog suit even has a functioning mouth and if it doesn’t open and close, there is a 10% discount, reports Daily Star. But customers are warned the costume may be hard to operate for those with “stiff muscles”. On the website for the zoo, it reads: “Have you ever wanted to be an animal? Have you ever imagined yourself as something other than yourself and felt excited?
“We offer a service that can help make that wish come true, even if only a little, by having you wear a costume.” Toco first shot to online fame after declaring he wanted to live as a Border Collie. He spent thousands on an ultra-realistic dog costume and shared clips of himself being stroked and taken for walks.
Previously the canine enthusiast released a new video offering fans the chance to experience life as a pet. Speaking over footage of a frolicking ‘human dog’, he says: “When I was a child, I thought it would be great if there was a service that allowed me to become an animal. “What can I do to help others who feel the same way I do? A place where you can fulfil your dream of becoming an animal. I will open Tokotoko Zoo where you can become an animal.”
