A lighthouse, transformed into Captain Birds Eye’s ‘home’ – complete with a freezer full of fish fingers – is up for grabs in a new competition. The iconic fisherman’s ‘house’ has been unveiled as a towering 69 feet high structure off the Norfolk coast, filled with personal touches that narrate his seafaring life.

The brand’s latest competition offers people the chance to stay at this unique lighthouse, located just a few miles down the coast from its Lowestoft fish finger factory. In a recent video, he gives viewers a tour of his home and a sneak peek into what competition winners could expect.

The coastal retreat is adorned with personal items that tell the tale of his life at sea. Just past the entrance, you’ll find his well-used fisherman’s waterproofs, a ‘Gone Fishing ‘ sign nearby, and a surfboard casually leaning against the wall.

Captain Birds Eye proudly shows off his lookout tower, where he plans his next adventure – surrounded by maritime books, it offers the best seat in the house with a perfect view of the horizon.

In the bedroom, his navy suit jackets and signature hats are neatly arranged, always ready for whatever the sea throws at him. To further entice potential winners, he reveals a freezer packed full of frozen treats.

Mike Sowerby from Birds Eye gushed: “Captain Birds Eye has been part of British family life for decades, and we’re thrilled to bring his world to life like never before.

“The lighthouse is a ‘true’ reflection of his adventurous spirit and love for the sea, and we can’t wait to welcome one lucky family to experience it for themselves.”

Ever since he sailed onto the scene in 1967, Captain Birds Eye has become an enduring symbol for families with his smart naval getup, friendly twinkle, and undying fondness for the ocean waves.

Despite his changing face over more than half a century, he has constantly held course with his sense of adventure and focus on family fun.

The seafaring legend’s own home dates back to 185 years ago having shone its last beam as an operational lighthouse in the roaring ’20s.

Decked out with seven rooms including two snug bedrooms, the competition offers a prize of a six-night retreat for a group of up to six guests.

Mike added: “Whether it’s enjoying a classic fish finger sandwich in the kitchen or taking in the stunning coastal views, this is a truly unique opportunity to step inside the captain’s life and create lasting family memories.”
