Apple has a week of exciting product announcements but one device has been unveiled a little earlier than expected.
There’s a huge week ahead for Apple fans with the US technology giant looking set to unleash a swathe of new products. We’ve already seen a powerful new iMac unveiled which now features a much faster M4 processor, improved screen and new colours. Now it seems like we’ll see another desktop PC unveiled later today. That’s according to a very rare mistake from Amazon who published – and then quickly removed – a listing for an all-new Mac mini.
This post, which was spotted by the team at Mac rumours, appears to show the new full line-up of Apple Mac PCs which includes the current Mac Studio and new M4-powered iMac sitting alongside a currently unreleased reboot to the Mac mini.
Just like the iMac, it seems the mini will also get a new M4 brain as well.
Although the new chip is sure to offer a serious speed boost, what looks so striking about this new device is its size. A picture posted on Amazon’s pages also appears to show the Mac mini with a new more streamlined appearance.
In fact, it could be similar in size to an Apple TV but with enough power to edit videos, retouch videos and keep pace with all the most demanding daily digital tasks.
Other features that have been shown off in the post include up to 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 64GB of memory and the option to boost things to 8TB or storage.
It also appears that users will be able to configure it with either the M4 chip or the more impressive M4 Pro processor.
We’re likely to hear full details about the Mac mini later today so watch this space.
As we mentioned earlier, one product we have now officially seen is the new M4 iMac. This all-in-one PC is faster, comes in seven vibrant colours, gets USB-C accessories, an improved 12MP camera with Center Stage technology and a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display.
It will go on sale next week with prices starting from £1,299.
“iMac is beloved by millions of users, from families at home to entrepreneurs hard at work. With the incredible features of Apple Intelligence and the powerful performance of Apple silicon, the new iMac changes the game once again,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “With M4 and Apple Intelligence, gorgeous new colours that pop in any space, an advanced 12MP Centre Stage camera, and a new nano-texture glass display option, it’s a whole new era for iMac.”
