A theme park ride fan has revealed the ‘wettest ride in the UK’ – and warned that you need to bring a change of clothes if you’re planning to go on it because you’ll be soaked

If you’re a fan of adrenaline-pumping, water-based rides, you’ve likely experienced your fair share of log flumes and rapids.

However, if you find yourself clinging on for dear life during these rides, the attraction that’s been crowned the world’s best for seven years running might not be your cup of tea – unless you’re an extreme thrill-seeker planning your next adventure.

Rollercoaster critic @Coastertog took to TikTok to reveal “the UK’s wettest ride” – and the catch is, you’ll end up absolutely drenched. He shared that he had to change his entire outfit after the ride due to being soaked through.

If you’ve guessed that we’re talking about Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Valhalla, then you’re spot on. This ride gets so waterlogged that staff “have to pump it out at the end of the ride”. He warned that riding Valhalla without a poncho is “it’s just pure insanity”, although even with a poncho purchased at the start of the ride, you won’t escape getting wet.

“If you’re riding Valhalla in the shoes you plan to wear for the rest of the day, you’re in for a really bad experience”, he added. He went on to say: “It’s not just the drops that get you soaked. If you’re sat at the front of the ride, at multiple times throughout the ride, the water will just come over the top of the boat and completely soak you from the waist down.

“There are also lots of effects throughout the ride that also completely cover you in water, like the iconic water vortex, which is basically an entire shower over the top of the boat that is completely unavoidable”.

He then suggested that he’d “understand” if this ride was “in a hot country” – but there’s not often enough sunshine to dry off in Blackpool, so you’ll probably stay soaked for the rest of the day. The rollercoaster enthusiast then admitted that he got “so wet” on Valhalla that he had to change into “a completely fresh set of clothes” – so he came prepared.

Despite this, he referred to Valhalla as “absolutely world class”, saying that it won “best water ride in the world seven times”. In the comments, someone recommended that you “ALWAYS do water rides at the end of the trip”. Someone claimed that Valhalla was so wet that it ‘broke their phone’, so it’s probably best to leave it in a locker if you are going to go on this ride.

Another commented: “I had my Nike dunks on, had to buy crocs at the pleasure beach there was no chance of them drying”.

Someone tried to recommend sitting at the back as you “don’t get that wet” – but others disagreed. “We got my 68 year old mum on it 3 weeks ago. She had no idea how wet she was gonna get. She was not impressed”, one woman wrote.
