Christine McGuinness dazzled on the red carpet at this year’s Pride of Britain Awards and while she wasn’t seeking romance, her mate Will Njobvu had different plans.

The duo’s playful banter about Christine’s love life – featuring an unexpected reference to Loose Women personality GK Barry – swiftly emerged as one of the evening’s most captivating moments. Chatting on the red carpet, Will couldn’t resist praising his close friend, calling Christine, 37, “a very sensitive soul” who merits nothing short of genuine happiness in her future romance.

“Whoever she wants to date or marry next needs to be on par with that,” Will declared. “Christine needs the right person, whether that’s a man or a woman. She deserves the best.”

Christine, who has consistently remained candid about prioritising herself following her separation from Paddy McGuinness, beamed as Will spoke so affectionately. However, when questioned about her own love life, she confessed she’s not entirely prepared to reveal too much at present.

“I’m not in a place where I would comfortably talk about my private life,” she revealed to the Daily Star.. “Until I feel like I’m at that point, I’m just going to…” she concluded with a chuckle, maintaining her privacy.

That didn’t prevent Will from ribbing her though. “A lot of people want her though,” he remarked with a smile.

“A lot of people are in her DMs! Which celeb would I want Christine with? GK Barry! Imagine. GK is taken, and I love her energy and her soul, but I think she would be the right woman for Christine.”

Christine couldn’t help but chuckle at the idea, clearly flattered. “I love GK Barry, but she is taken!” she exclaimed.

“I honestly wasn’t looking for a date tonight but…” she said with a cheeky grin, leaving the sentence unfinished.

Never one to let an opportunity pass him by, Will chimed in with a playful wink: “I’m going to be the matchmaker, GK Barry and Christine McGuinness, let’s make it happen!”.

The TikTok star and Saving Grace podcast host GK Barry, 26, whose real name is Grace Keeling, is currently smitten with footballer Ella Rutherford, 25, so it seems like Will’s dream duo will have to remain a fantasy for now.

Christine had been set to search for love on the latest series of Celebs Go Dating. However, she pulled out of the production at the start.

She left the agency after an emotional chat with dating experts, Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson. Viewers had watched on as the mother of three struggled to decide who to take to Ibiza. However, Anna said that the most “powerful decision” Christine made was to leave the process.

And Anna later told the Mirror that Christine “really worked on herself” in the time she was in the agency. She confirmed this was seen both on and off screen, before she made the “brave” decision to call it quits.
