The Scottish comedian shared a snap of a raised pint of Guinness in front of the drinking establishment – and he isn’t the only one who is singing the pub’s praises

Comedian Kevin Bridges has hailed a watering hole on the holiday island of Tenerife as the ‘best bar’ in the tourist hotspot.

The comedian shared a snap of a raised pint of Guinness while visible in the background was the sign for Marshalls sports and entertainment bar. He also shared his well-wishes for the owners in text shared over the Instagram snap. “Great trip back to Tenerife and delighted to see this place becoming the best bar on the island,” he said. “Very proud of my two pals Pepe and Roberto,” he added. The bar, which describes itself as a British or Scottish, pub on trip advisor, is certainly a hit with visitors, boasting a 5.0 rating based on 66 reviews. The establishment also won a Travellers’ Choice accolade from the website for 2024.

The bar, which sits on a palm tree-lined street in the Playa de las Americas neighbourhood in the island’s south western corner, also seems to be a hit with reviewers on Google, with 4.7 out of 5 stars from 89 reviews. The pub, which screens sports and also hosts live music, received good many reviews for its snappy service and friendly staff from dozens of former punters. “The owners are two of the nicest guys you could meet,” enthused one reviewer.

“Brilliant cocktails and a great selection of beers and spirits, fresh and modern decor, efficient friendly service,” he added. “Despite being newly opened it was clear they are very experienced and extremely personable staff.” Another Google review by Adam, posted two weeks ago praised the quick service and sports options. “Good selection of seats, plenty of staff waiting the tables so no need to move from your seat to order. Service is quick and efficient,” he said. “Plenty of TVs inside and outside to watch live sports, the evening entertainment with a live singer was excellent.”

One Tripadviser, titled “The best bar in Tenerife” certainly agreed with Kevin Bridges’ assessment after the Scottish funnyman shared a the of himself at the pub earlier this year, the Clydebank Post reported. Reviewer Holly, said: “This bar is an absolute credit to Pepe and Roberto! A great wee Scottish pub owned by two of the soundest guys out. They are so attentive and very personable to their staff. The live music was so good – we particularly enjoyed Saoirse. The service is great.”
