The Irishman has not fought since suffering a defeat to long-time rival Dustin Poirier in 2021, but has been slated to make a sensational return this year

Conor McGregor has seemingly delayed his return to the UFC after informing Logan Paul of a date, but the Irishman does plan to fight this year.

The former two-division UFC champion was recently snapped with Logan along with his younger brother Jake Paul on Monday ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington. The three shared the same bus, with ‘The Notorious’ even sitting next to the Paul brother’s mother, Pam Stepnick for the duration of the journey.

It seemed as if there was no drama, and McGregor even shared a selfie with Stepnick. The 36-year-old then opted to upload the snap, captioning it: “Lovely lady Pam.” However, it wasn’t as friendly as it seemed after ‘The Notorious’ taunted both Jake and Logan, labelling the pair ‘side jobs’ and even threatened to slap them both as well as KSI.

Despite all the drama in the footage released by ‘The Maverick’, many fans may not have realised that the Irishman revealed his UFC comeback. During the exchange, Logan took a swipe at McGregor’s lack of fights under the UFC banner recently, saying: “You can’t even do your main job. How are you going to do a side job?”

Following Paul’s brutal dig, McGregor then informed the WWE superstar to keep an eye out for a November date, saying: “That’s a good one,” he said before telling the 29-year-old: “November, stay tuned”. ‘The Notorious,’ 36, has not fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier back in 2021.

He was due to take on Michael Chandler last year, but was forced to pull out of the contest after suffering an injury in training just a few weeks before the contest. The Irishman’s last win inside the cage came back in 2020 when he defeated Donald Cerrone. With McGregor’s last fight coming nearly four years ago, many fans believe that his best days are behind him.

McGregor’s boss, Dana White, will be left disappointed by the Irishman’s targeted return. The 55-year-old recently revealed that he expects his star fighter to return in the fall of this year – which would be before the 36-year-old’s touted date.

During an episode of Pardon My Take, White shrugged off the idea of McGregor taking on the Paul brothers and KSI. “Eventually,” White responded when asked if the 36-year-old would fight in the UFC again in 2025. “No no [he won’t fight KSI or Logan Paul]. I’m hoping that Conor McGregor will return in the fall.”
