A dog owner has revealed they will never return to the groomers after the state their dog was left in after their cut, but some have pointed the blame at the owners, rather than the groomer

Dog owners have revealed they never want to go to the groomers again after seeing how their once fluffy pooch looked after their cut.

The pup was left “traumatized” according to one comment on a now viral post which revealed the before and after process of the dog’s cut. While members of the public were horrified to see how much hair the dog lost during the cut, some pointed out the amount of hair removed from the pooch may be the owner’s fault.

A post to Instagram revealed the before and after stages, with the original post captioned: “Never letting her get groomed again.” People were horrified by the reveal afterwards, with the dog left looking nothing like the beloved pet seen before.

The once fluffy dog was left with nothing more than a large, pom pom-like tail while the rest of it was completely shaved. One user wrote: “It’s cute but she got traumatized.” Another added: “That’s crazy unhealthy for the dog.”

A third worried: “This is why I always reiterate to the groomer that we do not want any sort of shaving or cutting (also have double-coated dogs). They always look shocked that I even mention it because it should be obvious. But clearly, it’s not always that obvious.”

But some users revealed the groomer was right to shave all of the dog’s hair off due to matting. They wrote: “The dog must have been SEVERELY matted they needed to shave all the fur off. That’s the owner’s fault for neglecting a basic grooming routine.” Another user fumed: “If a groomer does this it’s because of matting, brush your dogs people!!!”

Others have suggested it was the owner at fault for not properly grooming their dog and brushing the hair, leading to the seemingly wild haircut. “It’s probably the owner’s fault for not brushing and maintaining the dogs fur, groomers can’t bath a dog with matts so usually they need to shave them.”
