Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann have ‘£416k of watches and jewellery’ stolen from Turin home

Former Aston Villa couple Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann had over £400,000 worth of jewellery and watches stolen from their Turin home over the weekend while the midfielder was playing for Juventus

Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann were burgled on Saturday night with thieves stealing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from their Turin home.

Luiz, 26, and Lehmann, 25, both left Aston Villa to join Juventus in the summer. The couple were both integral players for Villa in their men’s and women’s teams respectively prior to their move to Italy, which made plenty of headlines.

Unfortunately, reports in Italian media have claimed that they were robbed over the weekend. It’s said that thieves stole 11 watches owned by Luiz and Lehmann’s diamond necklaces while the former was playing for Juventus against Lazio.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Brazil midfielder returned home to find the place in a mess after the burglars fled. Lehmann was with team-mates in a hotel ahead of her own fixture this weekend, leaving the property empty.

The alarm was raised at around 1.30am after Luiz returned home and police and forensic teams were called to the property. It’s estimated that the thieves took off with around €500,000 (£416,000) worth of jewellery following the raid.

A raft of Juventus players have been targeted by burglars in Turin in recent years with Luiz and Lehmann the latest to be affected following raids on Moise Kean, Kaio Jorge and Angel Di Maria.

Luiz and Lehmann first went public with their relationship back in 2021 and reconciled shortly after splitting back in November 2022. Their joint move to Juventus was touted as the first ‘couples transfer’ in football history back in the summer.

It’s believed Luiz, who had established himself as one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League prior to his transfer, moved in a deal worth £50million and earns in the region of £100,000-a-week.

Lehmann recently spoke out about the disparity in their salary, with the Swiss winger referencing that Luiz was being payed “a hundred times more than me.”

She said: “Everyone would like to have the same salary. I often speak to Douglas at home about this and tell him it’s not fair. We do the same job, but he gets paid a hundred times more than me.

“It’s something that affects me because I’m a woman. Obviously, there’s still a long way to go on the path we’re on because there may never be equal pay.”
