The V8 Advanced device has been specifically designed for homes with pets

Dyson has knocked £100 off a best-selling cordless vacuum in a one-off offer. The brand is known for designing long-lasting and effective vacuums, but they are on the higher end of the market for cleaning devices.

Thankfully, for a limited time only, you can buy a V8 Advanced vacuum for £229.99, reduced from £329.99. Described as its ‘most powerful V8 ever’, the tool has been redesigned with 10% more suction – perfect for households with children or pets.

The low-noise machine has built-in de-tangling technology that sucks up long hairs embedded deep into carpets. It also has two power modes and a run-time of 40 minutes.

The vacuum has a no-touch bin emptying mechanism and comes with a wall-mounting attachment for docking and charging. It can be used on all floor types, including carpets, wood, stone, and tiles.

The V8 Advanced has more than 11,00 reviews, more than 7,000 of which are awarded five stars. One customer wrote: “So pleased I bought this Dyson V8 Absolute, as it has made my life so much easier. I was struggling to use the heavy vacuum I’ve had for years.

“Now I can use this vacuum easily – just brilliant! I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who is looking for a very efficient light weight vacuum.”

A second customer, who suffers from a health condition, said the V8 Advanced has helped her do housework, explaining: “This has changed my life as I have respiratory problems/heart failure; now I can do my own housework.”

However, another shopper had an issue with the battery life, stating: “Beautifully crafted machine with good suction. Where it falls down is the battery. On Max power it only lasts for a few minutes and does take an age to recharge to full capacity.”

A fourth buyer left a detailed comment, reviewing the pros and cons of the device. They said: “I bought the V8 Advanced to replace my handheld V6 which has done well for years vacuuming up cat fur on furniture and duvets.

“I was initially disappointed there was no similar handheld vacuum as I didn’t feel the need for the floor cleaning part, already having a Dyson ball upright which is fine (although heavy). However, I’m now very happy with the V8 for two reasons.

“Used as a handheld for cleaning up cat fur on the furniture it works better than the V6, being less powerful in suction it doesn’t try to suck up the loose duvet cover, while still as good at collecting the fur, plus it’s much quieter, which I think my cat appreciates as much as I do! Having tried out using it as a floor vacuum I’m now finding it’s extremely useful, especially kept upstairs as a mostly carpet vacuum.

“It’s lighter and more easy to handle than I thought it would be, and while the dust bin is fairly small it’s easier to empty than the previous one. The parts are easy to clip on and off. All in all, I’m very happy with the V8 Absolute and would recommend it.”

A fifth commented: “Had this about a month and the Mrs loves it. We have a V6 that we’ve had for a number of years but the V8 is a good deal better. It’s light, powerful, easy to manoeuvre, has great battery life, and is easy to vacuum.

“We’ve got a three-storey townhouse, and the V8 does the whole house. Carpets and solid floors. The V6 couldn’t manage that. Great bit of kit.”

Shark also has a selection of offers on its vacuums to rival Dyson. For instance, this top-selling Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Pet Vacuum is on sale for £189.99, slashed from £279.99, and the Classic Upright Pet Vacuum is offered for £139.99, originally £229.99.

At the budget end of the market, this Amazon Basics Cylinder Bagless Vacuum is £50, and scores high with reviewers both for its price and performance. Its great for vacuuming rugs, carpets, hard floors, upholstery, car interiors.
