A seasoned cabin crew member revealed what she believes are the worst seats on any airplane, and it’s sparked quite the debate among flyers.

If you’re booking a flight anytime soon, you might want to think twice before reserving certain seats—especially the ones called out by flight attendant @marlemglobetrotter on TikTok.

In a video, the seasoned cabin crew member revealed what she believes are the worst seats on any airplane, and it’s sparking quite the debate among flyers. She said: “What’s up ya’ll, I’m a flight attendant and I’m about to show you what I think are the two worst rows on any airplane.” According to her, the absolute worst seats on a plane are located just in front of the exit rows.

She added: “The worst is the row before the exit row because not only do you not have extra leg room, but your seat doesn’t recline. The second worst is the first of the two exit rows because it also doesn’t recline, so keep this in mind next time you are booking your flight. 0 out of ten recommend.”

The flight attendant’s candid advice quickly got people talking. In the comments section, many agreed with her assessment about the lack of reclining ability, which can make even a short flight feel uncomfortably stiff.

One user echoed the discomfort of a seat with no reclining option, saying: “We flew in a no recline aisle for 2.5 hours and my back hurt after. I just need that slight tilt after injury. So now I book as far out as I can to avoid that.” For anyone who’s spent hours sitting upright without even the option to recline a little, it’s clear why this particular seat might earn the title of worst on the plane.

However, not everyone shares this view. While some travellers are on board with the no-recline seats being the ultimate dealbreaker, others have entirely different opinions on where the worst seat lies.

“No, worst by far is the last row,” said one commenter, disagreeing with the flight attendant’s suggestions. “Constant toilet traffic and stink plus no recline and bumpiest by far.” The last row of the plane is notorious for being near the bathrooms, leading to constant interruptions as passengers queue for the restroom, as well as being in the most turbulent section of the cabin.

In fact, the lack of recline in the last row combined with the unpleasant smells and increased movement makes it a seat most people would definitely rather avoid. Whether you prioritise extra legroom, a reclining seat, or a quieter ride, it’s clear that choosing the right seat can be just as important as choosing the right flight.
