Gogglebox stars Mary Killen and Giles Wood are back on our screens on the popular Channel 4 show – but the couple have made some surprising confessions in the past

Gogglebox’s Mary Killen and her husband Giles Wood, known for their sharp wit and hilarious commentary, have once again graced our screens in the latest series of the hit Channel 4 show. However, it wasn’t always just laughs with this couple; they once made headlines with some surprising revelations about their past, reports OK!.

In a candid interview with The Guardian, the quirky duo confessed to some minor transgressions, with Mary even disclosing her unlikely criminal history. She quipped, “I’ve only ever committed white collar crimes.” Mary elaborated on her misdemeanours, saying, “I’ve reused unfranked stamps or travelled without buying a ticket if the conductor didn’t come round.”

Back in 2018, she also shared that they weren’t alone in their illicit travel, revealing, “We know a man who commuted to London daily for 20 years and hid in the loo both ways. Life’s too short.”

Yet, Mary assured that these ‘white collar crimes’ were the extent of her wrongdoing, insisting, “My conscience would come after me. I’m too honest.”The posh pair, married for over three decades, have become television staples, providing some of Gogglebox’s most unforgettable moments since joining the show in 2015.

Mary recently dished the dirt on her past, leaving fans puzzled after her ‘missing’ accent became apparent in a new episode of the beloved series. At the same time, she delved into the ‘dismal ending’ of her childhood home.

Mary and Giles, who seem like the epitome of quirky, comfy marital joy on the show, have faced their fair share of ups and downs. Mary unveiled that during 1985, things got rocky and they split, but it only strengthened their bond and transformed Giles.

Chatting with The Telegraph, Mary reflected: “When we broke up in 1985 you suddenly became very competent; you got new, chic clothes and started working hard.”

Naturally, the duo got back together and have since become national treasures through their Gogglebox appearances.
