Chat show icon Graham Norton has slammed ‘rude’ guests who appear on his show and told them to ‘get over themselves’ after they refuse to perform one ‘cringemaking’ task

Graham Norton has called out ‘rude’ stars after they refuse to do the same ‘cringe-making’ task.

Whilst speaking about celebrities who refuse to watch themselves back on screen, the popular chat show host said: ‘”Get over yourself!”

The 61-year-old chat show legend added: “I always feel it is so rude… if you’re asking other people to watch it, and you say you aren’t willing to watch it yourself.”

But he did admit that he is not exactly the biggest fan of seeing himself on screen either, but feels that it has to be done: “It is cringe-making watching yourself do anything, but I think you kind of need to bite the bullet and do it,” he told the Daily Mail.

In a recent interview with Grace Dent on her Comfort Eating podcast he discussed how on one occasion two actors had a disagreement about the seating arrangements on his show, as they were both vying for the much coveted spot nearest him: “That has happened once (someone has changed seats at the last minute).

“They walked out together, they were two actors, they walked out together and one of them was supposed to be sitting next to me and the other one just didn’t sit down. He just waited.”

He revealed that there is one huge Hollywood star that still hasn’t made it in the much-craved spot next to him, adding: “Which sometimes means that huge stars for whatever reason have never sat next to me. Bradley Cooper has never sat next to me. There has always been someone more famous than him.”

After the show first appeared on our screens in 2007 on BBC Two, it has continued to grow in popularity down the years, with Graham becoming one of the country’s best known chat show hosts with him able to attract star studded guests every episode. Such its success, it has picked up a whole host of awards down the years, most notably, the ‘British Academy Television Award for Best Entertainment Performance’ on three occasions.

The Graham Norton Show is set to return on BBC One tonight (Friday, October 18), with Bruce Springsteen, Amy Adams, Vanessa Williams and Bill Bailey all set to feature.
