The woman was steeling herself for an expensive bill but was hugely surprised when it was much less than she had imagined

Some people are left shocked when they have to pay over the odds for eating and drinking out while they are on holiday.

And many are shocked by the cost when they go to settle the bill overseas. But one woman, who expected a huge bill. was left speechless when she received her tab after taking her family-of-seven out for a meal in Tenerife. She thought she would have to shell out a healthy amount of cash for her and her family’s meal but it was a lot cheaper than she expected. The Daily Record reports many of us have to carefully budget before going abroad. Especially when there are flights and accommodation costs to consider too.

The astonished restaurant customer revealed her family ordered items like steak, pizza and drinks. But they were ‘speechless’ when the bill arrived, because it was so affordable. On TikTok she told her followers: “Evening meal this evening cost €54.84 (around £45).” Viewers were equally as shocked by the affordability of the evening out. It proves that good grub doesn’t always have to cost an arm and a leg.

One person replied, saying: “That would be £150 easy in Turkey.” Another wrote: “How? That’s amazing!” A third quipped: “Good price. We normally pay roughly 50 to 60 euros for three people.” A fourth, meanwhile. said: “Amazing value, and your kids seem very well behaved too. That’s amazing.” Another pleased follower commented: “Beautiful family, and food looks good. Very reasonable.” One more fan agreed sayng: “Love their table etiquette. Great parenting.” And a final commenter added: “That’s amazing. I live in Cyprus. It would be much more than that.” The same could not be be said for other holidaymakers who jetted off to the sun recently.

One holidaymaker was left feeling absolutely furious after receiving a £610 bill for ‘four drinks and food’ at a bar in Greece. A furious diner claimed they had to shell out £600 for just four drinks and one meal at a Greek restaurant notorious for its extreme prices. The eatery has been the subject of numerous complaints over the years from customers shocked by its hefty bills. Many holidaymakers shared similar stories of being offered oysters without realising they cost nearly €30 each, leading to a nasty surprise when the bill arrives.

Customers claimed they have been pressured into paying up after complaining about the unexpected costs. Holidaymakers, elsewhere, also predicted Turkey will become a ghost town “within years”, as skyrocketing prices at holiday hotspots are putting people off visiting.

On TikTok, Brits have opened up about how unexpectedly deserted Turkey has felt this season. One user, known slimwadie5, aired his astonishment at the inflation he’s witnessed over the past 12 months. He said one speed boat was charging an eye-watering £120 for a mere hour-long ride. He continued: “I went on a boat trip the other day, £20 it was, and that was alright – that was reasonable.

“I went to Burger King and it was £5 – that’s cheap. I’m sat in this place now – for a burger it’s £12. For a water it’s £2 – it’s becoming like London prices. “My sister, and her little family, said they’re not going to come back again, because they’re just. I’ve seen some posts on here where people are saying, give it a few more years, and Turkey’s going to be dead.”
