A woman has been branded ‘greedy’ for stocking her freezer with at least 23 meat joints before Christmas – but with four kids and a partner with a big appetite, she says it is all needed

A woman has been slammed after pilling meat up in her freezer ahead of Christmas Day.

It’s that time of year when shops are filled with customers purchasing presents for loved ones and supermarkets are stocked with delicious festive treats. Most of us tend to do our Christmas Day food prep a few days beforehand, but some like to get super organised and get their food early and freeze it to avoid the last minute rush.

Kent resident Tracey King took to social media recently to share her haul after stocking up on half-priced meat. While shopping with her partner in Sainsbury’s, the pair managed to find a number of legs of lamb in the reduced section. They picked up six, despite already having five in their freezer at home.

As her partner was putting several hams into a basket, Tracey said on her TikTok: “Sure he’s greedy but they’ve got to last us over Christmas.

But not everyone agrees with the amount of food the pair have been buying. “Clearly not thinking about the next customer – pure greed,” wrote one.

“F***ing greedy people,” commented another. “Pure greed,” agreed another. “Geez, how many do you need lady?” questioned another.

Some defended Tracey, as one wrote: “Never mind about being greedy, get them while you can sweetie. It’s going to be a long, cold winter.” “My kind of shopper,” said another. “Got mine the other day,” said another.

Tracey, who insists the food will last her several months, has also managed to get seven gammon joints from Sainsbury’s and nine large crackling pork joints. The mum-of-four also found a number of jars of pickles, sauces, and crackers on offer that she can use over Christmas.

She also visited Morrisons earlier this month and picked up six boxes of Quality Street, four boxes of Roses, six boxes of Heroes, and five boxes of Celebrations.

Tracey said she has now completed her Christmas food shopping. She said: “I think this is probably going to be the last shop regarding food now. Like I said, the meats all done now.

“I’ve done all the sweet side of stuff, I’ve done all the jars, I’ve done the pudding side.” She says the only thing left to sort is drinks for Christmas Day.
